Your Guide to Winter Vaccines

The colder months are on their way, and with them comes the annual winter vaccination programme. Getting vaccinated is one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself and others from serious illness.

This year, the programme will once again offer both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines to those who are most at risk. We know you might have questions, so here is a simple guide to what you need to know.

How and When to Get Your Vaccine
If you are eligible for a vaccine, NHS Scotland will contact you directly with information on how to get your appointment. This will be through a letter, email or text message.

Please wait to be contacted. There is no need to call us at the practice, as we do not have access to the booking system and cannot book your appointment for you.

Who is Eligible?
The vaccines are offered to people who are at the highest risk of getting seriously ill. Eligibility for the winter 2025 programme is decided by NHS Scotland based on health advice.

For a full list of who is eligible for each vaccine and for more information on the winter vaccination programme, please visit the NHS Inform website.

The council are currently in a consultation phase on this proposal, and are looking for feed back from the public. More information on the proposals and how to give feedback is on their website.
