Losing a loved one feels like an ending in so many ways, but in time, it can also become the ground from which something new begins. the 2nd - 8th of December is National Grief awareness Week. This year it is themed Growing with Grief. After that loss, we can't go back to who we were, but instead, we can grow into someone new shaped by love, memories, and resilience. This growth doesn’t erase the pain, but it allows HOPE to return. We may even become more present, more compassionate, more aware of what truly matters in life.

This weekend is always a time that holds a special place of memories and at the same time gives a feeling of pride and solace for me.
As well as remembering, there is also a period we should look after those around us and ourselves and ask if people are ok. November is Men's Health Awareness Month and as we remember, if you are serving in the forces, a veteran that remembers or simply know someone who at this time who needs a little help.
Don't suffer in silence, look after each other.
We will Remember them 🙏

World Mental Health Day is a great opportunity for us to come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that is matter.
Talking is good for your mental health. And talking about mental health is important. But starting a conversation isn’t always easy. Whether you’d like to talk to someone about how you’re feeling, or check-in with someone you care about, here are some tips that can help.

Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone

For this year’s World Mental Health Day, we’re focusing on the mental health impact of repeated exposure to news coverage of crises and conflicts.

The world is going through a tough time right now and even if you’re not directly affected by events, it can still feel like a lot to cope with. It’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you, or anyone else is going through. Read our advice on managing feelings of overwhelm.

We may not have the power to influence or change everything we’d like to on a global scale. But there are things we can do to protect ourselves and others from feeling overwhelmed and hopeless in the face of current events. Read our tips on managing your news consumption and the impact of doomscrolling. Overwhelm: when global events and relentless bad news becomes too much
Constantly hearing about negative news from around the world can feel like a lot to take in – and that’s because it is. https://finuwellbeing.com/

This year's theme to Su***de Prevention Day is ‘Changing The Narrative On Su***de’ and we need to be honest that myth and stigma is still costing lives.

With the call to action being ‘start the conversation’, it is important to emphasise the importance of talking.

It isn’t weak to say you’ve been feeling suicidal. it isn’t bad to ask about su***de, in fact, it’s vital we do as it’s the first step in recovery.

If we normalise open discussion and learn how to be more comfortable with discussing it, lives can and will be saved.
