Meet Emma & Kirstin – the team behind Wiltshire Ear Wax Removal 👋

If you’ve booked an appointment with us, these are the friendly faces who will come to see you.
Emma and Kirstin are fully qualified nurses based in Trowbridge, with many many years of clinical experience between them. They’re also CQC regulated, so patients can feel confident they’re receiving safe, professional care.

What makes their service a little different is that they work together as a team, coming out to appointments to carefully assess your ears and make sure you receive the best treatment possible.

At this time of year we often see more people experiencing blocked ears.

Winter colds, sinus congestion and seasonal bugs can sometimes make ear wax build-up feel much worse.

Here are a few signs your ears might be blocked with wax:
👂 Muffled or reduced hearing
👂 A feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear
👂 Ringing or buzzing sounds
👂 Needing to turn the TV up louder than usual
👂 Feeling slightly dizzy or off balance

Ear wax is completely normal and usually protects your ears, but sometimes it can build up and affect your hearing.

Heading off to Fireworks night?

It’s that time of year again, fireworks, bonfires, toffee apples, and big bangs and we feel we wouldn’t be doing our jobs properly if we didn’t mention your ears this Fireworks Night!

Fireworks can reach up to 150 decibels which is louder than a jet engine!
So while the sky lights up, let’s make sure your ears don’t too.

Here’s how to enjoy the night safely:
🎧 Pop in some earplugs (they’re comfy, promise!)
🚶 Watch from a safe distance — you’ll still get the oohs and aahs!
🐶 Keep your furry friends snug indoors
👂 If your ears ring afterwards, give them a rest for a day or two - put the headphones down!

As the temperatures drop and the heating goes up, the air gets drier and so can your ears!

But did you know your home heating can dry out your ear canals too?

Dry skin can make your ears itchy, irritated, and even cause more wax to form.
Here’s what helps:
💧 Keep rooms humidified or place a bowl of water near the radiator
🧴 Don’t over-clean — your ears are pretty good at self-care
👂 If things feel dry or itchy, we can help keep them comfortable

It’s half term, the children are off school, and the pumpkin patches are calling!
