At Nursery, we've been focusing on the importance of brushing our teeth. The children brought their own toothbrushes and toothpaste, and they used mirrors to see their teeth and practice brushing. Each child brushed their teeth independently, while an adult sang a fun teeth-brushing song to keep them engaged. This activity is crucial for teaching children about dental hygiene and fostering independence in their self-care routines. We'll continue this activity throughout the week to support their learning and development.

In celebration of road safety week, we took the children up to the sensory garden to play red light green light. This helps to teach the children that red means stop and green means we can go. They all listened really well and followed the instructions clearly.

What a fantastic turn out for Pyjama day in aid of children in need. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated we have raised over £72 pounds. The children have had a fantastic day learning all about Pudsey through play in our Pyjamas.

Remembrance day! The children made their own poppies and even went to see the poppy display in town.

Remember remember the 5th of November. The children have enjoyed making lots of firework pictures using different recourses. Pre-school even enjoyed a glow dance session in the dark. We hope you all have a lovely time and get to see some real Fireworks.

We had a super spooky day! From making fizzy cauldron potions, to fishing out eye ball soup We carved and decorated our own pumpkins too. We made bubbly cauldron pictures and even had the chance to bob for apples. Once we had caught our apples we cut them up and made our own snack of apple "doughnuts" which we covered in yoghurt as pretend frosting.

Toddlers enjoyed visiting the library .Visiting the library and reading books offer numerous benefits for young children. Libraries are rich environments that support early literacy, curiosity, and lifelong learning.

Babies are enjoying lots of Autumnal walks. On their adventures they picked up some natural resources. Later they enjoyed swishing and swaying the branches with paint to make marks.
Mark making with different materials offers a wide range of artistic, educational, and developmental benefits.

This week at Nursery we had the opportunity to make some apple crumble. The children learnt how to use a knife to cut the apple into pieces. We spoke about how we need to be safe with the knife as they are sharp. We then used a grater to grate the apple. This is good for the children's large gross motor skills. They used the handle to turn the grater. We then sprinkled some oats on top of our crumble and I put it in the oven to cook. At snack time we were able to try our apple crumble alongside a cracker.

We are very excited to be celebrating our first Birthday here at Bumpers Nursery! It has been a wonderful year of growth, learning, and laughter, and we are so grateful to all of you for being part of our journey.

Today we went for another walk to the primrose nature reserve to see if the birds had eaten the food we left on Monday. Almost all of it had gone! So we left some more for them. We also collected leaves and sticks for our autumn activities next week.
