π October β Domestic Violence Awareness Month π
Abuse isnβt always obvious or physical. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, or controlling.
It can leave you doubting yourself, walking on eggshells, or questioning if itβs βbad enoughβ to count.
If youβre asking yourself:
βAm I overreacting?β
βIs this really abuse?β
βAm I to blame?β
Know this: your feelings are valid.
Walking on eggshells, feeling silenced, or doubting your own reality are real signs of abuse β even if subtle.
β¨ You are a survivor. β¨
Finding your voice is part of your power. Every step toward safety, clarity, or healing is an act of courage.
You deserve love, respect, freedom, and safety.
Trauma from abuse is real and impactful - it can affect your body, mind, and relationships. The trauma itself does not make you strong. What builds your strength is your resilience, your choices, and the steps you take toward safety, healing, and reclaiming your life.
Abuse can take many forms:
Physical
Emotional / verbal
Financial
Sexual
Psychological / controlling
As a counsellor, I want to help break the cycle:
π Supporting survivors to rebuild strength and reclaim their voice
π Helping those questioning their relationships find clarity
π Support people who recognise harmful behaviours and patterns in themselves and want to take responsibility and change
π You are not alone.
π You deserve more.
π Your voice matters.
