We are proud of our small independent business, that we have both grown since 2020.

When we left Audiology, little did we know that cleaning ears was going to keep us so busy.

Before our appointments we generally advise that an olive oil spray or drops be used for 3-5 days before you see us.
This is mainly to soften or loosen any wax that might be present.
We recommend either Earol or CL-ear products, these can be obtained from most pharmacies, can be found online or alternatively we do stock a small supply in our clinics.

🌟EARWAX REMOVAL UPDATE 🌟

Ear wax removal is considered an invasive procedure, requiring adequate vision, adequate fine motor skills and a high level of ear knowledge.

Currently you need no specific qualification or expertise in ears to deliver this service to the public and yet there are significant risks to patients’ safety if aural care is not conducted with a high level of otological knowledge, expert skills and competence.

The Aural Care Community of Interest is a group of Ear Specialists (Ear, Nose and Throat doctors, Aural Care nurses, Audiologists etc) that have developed a document outlining the ‘Minimum Training Standards’ for healthcare providers delivering an ear wax removal service.

They state that “A Level 4 academic programme of study has been deemed as the minimum standard to which aural care procedures must be trained”

For anyone struggling with mobility, we have free parking outside of our Redruth and St Austell clinics.

We established our ear wax removal clinics in 2020, and can’t believe where the last 5yrs have gone!
All our centres are run by registered, experienced, and qualified Audiologists. We offer our gold standard ear wax removal services, alongside being able to offer swim/surf moulds and noise ear protection also.

As always we are working hard to keep our waiting times to a minimum, and there is some availability within the week.

👂🏻🪰 B U G S 🪰👂🏻

Normally we remove wax from ears, however on this occasion a patient attended our St Austell clinic at the Merlin - Cornwall's Neuro Therapy Centre as an emergency, as whilst cutting the lawn a bug flew into their ear.

It was causing some distress as was still alive, and was buzzing and moving around.
Microsuction is our preferred method of wax removal, but due to concern that this would break the creature up, we decided to use an irrigation method instead. This meant the creature was safely removed in one piece, and the patient was back to hearing normally, bug free!
