The PWMS Retailer Training Scheme, supported by the Department for Transport, is designed to help you provide safe, consistent and responsible guidance to anyone purchasing a mobility scooter or powerchair.

Even centres that only sell equipment occasionally have found real value in attending — particularly through:

💙 Celebrating ShopMobility Merseyway – Making Stockport Accessible for All 💙

This November, we’re continuing to shine a light on ShopMobility Merseyway Stockport, where accessibility really means inclusion.

Since relaunching in June 2025, the free mobility scooter and wheelchair hire service has helped countless visitors move confidently around Merseyway Shopping Centre — whether shopping, meeting friends, or simply enjoying a day out.

The initiative forms part of Merseyway’s wider improvements to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, including upgraded public toilets, changing facilities, and a dedicated prayer room. 🙌

As Centre Manager Victoria Nichol explains:
“We’re delighted to welcome ShopMobility back to Merseyway. This service plays a vital role in making the centre more accessible for all.”

🌟 Centre of the Month: ShopMobility Merseyway Stockport! 🌟

📆 This November, we’re celebrating ShopMobility Merseyway in Stockport — where accessibility, community, and independence come together. 💙

Thanks to funding from Stockport Council, the ShopMobility service officially returned to Merseyway Shopping Centre in June this year, offering free daily access to mobility scooters and wheelchairs for shoppers. 🧑‍🦽🦽

The scheme, which has received wonderful take-up since its launch, runs seven days a week and ensures everyone can shop, dine, and enjoy Merseyway with confidence and ease. It’s completely free to use, safe, and easy to operate — perfect for anyone who needs a little extra support while exploring the centre.

👏 A huge thank you to the Merseyway team and Stockport Council for helping make this vital service possible.
