Bone health needs impact, but not shock.
Nordic walking is weight-bearing while remaining joint considerate, supporting bone density without jarring forces.
The poles encourage upright posture and active movement through the skeleton.
It is a safer way to load bones consistently over time.

Energy and fitness shift week to week. Sometimes even day to day.

The walk levels are there to allow for that. You don’t have to force yourself into something that doesn’t fit. You can still turn up, still move, and still choose what feels right on the day.
That flexibility removes pressure. And when pressure drops, habits last.

Level 1 this afternoon and we made a smart call heading into the gardens for a bit of shelter from the wind.

A steady walk covering both sides, with a wander through the apple orchard to catch the magnolias in bloom. Absolutely stunning right now.

Bluebells everywhere this year as well. The gardens are looking at their best.

A really lovely session. Well done Level 1. See you all next week.

What a windy morning.

That breeze had a bite to it, so our Level 2 walkers out with Debs wasted no time getting moving and warming up.

Fresh air, clear heads, and every cobweb well and truly blown away.

Finished off with coffee and cake at Trelissick, which always feels well earned after a walk like that.

Great effort all round. See you next time.

A big shout out to Caroline, one of our Level 3 walkers, who has taken her Nordic walking onto the Camino Way.

35 miles in and it is all going to plan. No blisters. No dramatic limping. Spirits still suspiciously high, but still a long way to go!

This is what consistent walking builds. Strength, endurance, and the confidence to take it further.

Good luck, Caroline. We are all following your progress from Cornwall.

All that winter rain had one upside.

The bluebells have gone wild this year.

This was taken on the North Woodland walk at Trelissick Garden, just as you come down the hill. A full carpet of colour stretching through the trees. Properly impressive.

A beautiful walk, good company, and a bit of sunshine breaking through. The wind had its say, but you take that when everything else looks like this.

These are the moments you don’t get from the car. You have to be out in it.

Nordic walking is about more than adding poles to a walk.
The Beginners Workshop explains the why as well as the how.
Understanding the movement helps people stick with it.

This is an exercise that leaves room for conversation, scenery, and noticing where you are.
You are present, not counting reps or watching a clock.
That changes how movement feels.

💬 “It has been so good for my physical, mental, and emotional health, and meeting with a lovely group of people of all ilks, walking, talking, laughing as we go. I’d thoroughly recommend this for everyone, as there are different levels to suit all.”

Thank you for sharing such a warm and honest message 💛

Laughter, connection, fresh air (and sometimes a bit of mud!), it all adds up to something pretty special. Whether you're looking for a gentle stroll or a bit of a challenge, there's a place for you here.

When energy is unpredictable, exercise needs to adapt.
Nordic walking spreads effort across the whole body, reducing local overload and fatigue.
Studies show improvements in physical function compared to normal walking.
Movement becomes manageable, rhythmic, and easier to recover from.

Glorious one this morning.

Sun shining, birds singing, and the wind doing its thing, but we still had a really good stomp. Headed over the fields through and the trees to Pendarves Woods with the rhododendrons looking brilliant, then on through to the bluebells which are just starting to come out. Feels like they’re going to be early this year.

Not too wet underfoot either, which made a big difference for this route.

Great company, lots of laughs, and one of those walks you’re glad you didn’t miss.

We offer different walk levels because people walk for different reasons.

Some days suit a gentler walk for confidence or recovery. Others fit a steady, regular pace. When energy is high, a more demanding route can feel right. Each level has its own pace, distance, and terrain.

Many walkers move between levels depending on how they feel and what they need. That choice is intentional, not a step backwards.

The aim stays the same. You walk at a level that supports you, helps you recover when needed, and fits your life.
