We’ve had a lot of messages regarding our last post on compromised skin, wondering where is best to start with treatments. We believe the best treatment to begin your journey is Dermalux LED if your skin is feeling dry, reactive, sensitive or out of balance.

When the skin barrier is compromised, it struggles to hold on to moisture and becomes more vulnerable to redness, irritation and flare-ups. At this stage, harsh exfoliation or overly active skincare can often make things worse.

Dermalux LED is a brilliant option because it supports the skin’s natural repair process in a gentle, non-invasive way. It helps to calm inflammation, reduce redness and strengthen the skin, making it ideal for sensitised skin and barrier recovery. Again, picture that layer of bubble wrap. HYALURONIC ACID, WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?

Don’t let the word acid scare you… 💧

Hyaluronic acid isn’t drying or stripping, it’s the complete opposite. It’s a powerful humectant (aka a moisture magnet) that can hold up to 1000x its weight in water, leaving your skin hydrated, plump and glowing.

There’s a difference between a hydrator and a moisturiser.
A hyaluronic acid serum is a hydrator, it absorbs quickly and draws water into the skin (perfect for all skin types, even oily + dehydrated as it’s non-comedogenic). A moisturiser then acts as a barrier to lock everything in and nourish the surface.

As we age, our natural levels of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid decline, which is why skin can start to feel drier and less bouncy. Adding a quality HA serum back into your routine helps keep skin looking fuller, fresher and more vibrant.

Just a couple of drops is enough for the whole face. Lightweight, non-sticky, fast absorbing. Use alone for a fresh glow or layer under moisturiser for extra hydration.

Not all serums are created equal… some high street options contain as little as 0.01% HA and won’t truly pe*****te. Invest in formulas with a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid (bonus points for added Vitamin B5). We love Hydrating B5 & Hyrd8 B5.
