Saucy salmon pasta 🐠👩🍳
As per government guidelines, it is recommended to consume 1-2 portions of oily fish per week. So this recipe is a perfect way to consume oily fish 😁
Oily fish contain long-chain omega-3 fatty acids which can help lower the risk of heart disease and reduce inflammation ⭐️
So, give this quick and easy salmon pasta dish a go!
What you’ll need:
• 1 salmon fillet (feel free to use other oily fish such as, herring, pilchards and sardines if salmon isn’t your thing!)
• 80g of pasta (I have used regular pasta, but you can swap this for whole-grain pasta)
• A few florets of broccoli
• Handful of frozen peas
• A dollop of Crème fraiche
• 1 chopped tomato
• Salt & pepper
• Extra virgin olive oil
Method:
1. Place the salmon fillet into a hot pan- season with salt and pepper and drizzle a little olive oil on top and cook for 6-8 minutes
2. Boil a pot of water in a large pan. Once boiling, add the pasta and cook for 8-12 minutes (depending on the shape of pasta)
3. Place the broccoli, peas, and chopped tomato in a sperate pan over a medium heat. Drizzle with olive oil.
4. Once the broccoli, peas and tomato has softened, add a dollop of crème fraiche and stir
5. Once the salmon is cooked, break the salmon into small pieces and place in the pan with the creamy broccoli, peas and tomato.
6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain the water and add the pasta to the same pan as above.
7. Give everything a stir
8. Empty the contents of the pan into a bowl and enjoy!
**Season with salt & pepper if you wish
