Please let neighbours and friends know about the Boil Notice for water - especially if they are not online or digitally able and live in areas affected by the water supply issue

โš ๏ธ We have issued a precautionary boil notice to our customers in Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas, who have experienced low pressure or no water since 29 November.

When water returns to customers taps and from 12:00 midday today, and until further notice, we are asking all customers in Tunbridge Wells who have experienced low pressure or no water since 29 November to boil water before being consumed.

Why is this happening?

We have seen a return of the water quality issues at our Pembury Water Treatment Works which we previously thought we had overcome.

We understand many customers have been without water for a number of days, causing issues with basic public health functions such as flushing the toilet or showering.

We have therefore taken the decision to pump water from our treatment works into the network, which can be used for flushing toilets or showering, but crucially cannot be used for drinking without boiling first until we let you know otherwise.

What you need to do

โœ… You can use tap water for showering, bathingand flushing toilets.

โŒ Do not drink water straight from the tap. Boil water and let it cool before using it for drinking, cooking, food preparation, washing dishes or brushing teeth.

Our customer care team and Water Direct are continuing to deliver bottled water to more than 2,000 of our most vulnerable customers who are already registered on our Priority Services Register.

We are continuing to respond to reactive delivery requests/new PSR sign ups for this service as soon as possible.

You can sign up for our PSR by visiting https://orlo.uk/vBCvS or calling 0333 000 0365.
We are so sorry for the continued disruption. We are doing everything we can to resolve the quality issues so we can lift this notice as soon as possible.

Good morning all. Unfortunately you will know as Tunbridge Wells residents that the water saga continues. We have no running water so no patient toilets or handwashing facilities. We have received bottled water now from SE Water (thanks to Mike Martin MP and the Kent and Medway ICB for making this happen).
There are some portaloos in the town centre which have been supplied by the Borough Council.

We would also like to ensure as many people as possible are aware of the below from SE Water:

BOIL NOTICE After recharging our network in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas slowly, we have seen a recurrence of the water quality issues that caused the initial shutdown of our water treatment works in Pembury. Because of this, we are currently unable to produce drinking water from the Pembury treatment works that meets the strict regulatory standards required for consumption. We understand many customers have been without water for a number of days, causing issues with basic public health functions such as flushing the toilet or showering. We have therefore taken the decision to pump water from our treatment works into the network, which can be used for flushing toilets or showering, but crucially cannot be used for drinking without boiling first. From 12:00, midday on 3 December, until further notice, we are asking all customers in the Tunbridge Wells area who have experienced low pressure or no water since 29 November to boil water before being consumed.

Tomorrow (Saturday 11th October) sees our second large vaccination clinic in the Royal Victoria Place to provide our eligible patients with their flu vaccines. This will take place in the โ€œpop-upโ€ unit opposite Sports Direct (1st floor, not far from Marks and Spencer).
Running from 09:15 to 13:30, patients who have booked are asked to come along at their appointment time, have their coats off and arms ready.
We also offer the opportunity to have your blood pressure checked.
Our clinicians are looking forward to helping prevent our patients become seriously ill with influenza and our receptionists will meet patients and sign them in. See you there tomorrow!
