Encouraging young children to be seen regularly prevents fears and unnecessary problems later in adulthood. We provide a wide range of treatments from routine prevention and maintenance to advanced treatments like Implants, smile makeovers, invisible braces etc. We aim to provide the highest level of care in a safe, hygienic, friendly and relaxed environment.

Our wonderful dental nurses, Sara and Anna, have recently attended an implant course, helping them to become fully qualified implant nurses!

This advanced training means they’ll be able to assist with all implant procedures carried out here at the practice, from start to finish. Ensuring every treatment runs smoothly and comfortably for our patients.

We’re delighted to introduce Nikki, one of our newest dentists here at Tunbridge Wells Dental Centre! To help you get to know her a little better, we asked her a few fun questions

💬 1. What inspired you to become a dentist?
👉 Giving people back their confidence to smile and socialise – and, in some cases, simply being able to eat and enjoy food with friends and family again. Helping someone feel comfortable in their own smile is what drew me to dentistry and still inspires me every day.

💬 2. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
👉 Working with nervous patients and seeing them go from fearful to completely at ease about coming in. Watching that change happen and knowing I’ve helped along the way is honestly the best feeling.

💬 3. Do you have a top dental tip you always share with patients?
👉 After brushing, always spit but don’t rinse – rinsing washes away all the goodness of the fluoride that’s protecting your teeth.

💬 4. What’s your favourite way to relax outside of work?
👉 A proper cup of tea in bed on a Sunday morning is heaven. I love trying out restaurants all over the world, but my favourite place will always be heading to a restaurant in France – nothing quite compares.

💬 5. If you could invite three people (famous or not!) to a dinner party, who would they be?
👉 David Attenborough – to hear all his amazing stories.
Serena Williams – to learn about her journey, hard work and dedication.
My mum – because family is everything, and sharing a moment like that with her would be truly memorable.

We’re delighted to welcome Dr. Kavita Patel, Associate Dentist at Tunbridge Wells Dental Centre. Bringing her blend of skill, care and a fresh perspective to our team.

Kavita has completed advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Her background includes work at the renowned Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, where she treated trauma, wisdom teeth and facial surgery cases.

She believes in providing natural-looking results and delivering treatment that’s tailored, comfortable and transparent. Kavita strives to ensure every patient feels heard. From preventative care to more complex restorative work.

When she’s not caring for smiles, Kavita loves exploring the outdoors, travelling and immersing herself in different cultures.

Toffee apples and other sweet treats are a big part of Fireworks Night. But here’s a quick reminder for your teeth!

Sticky, sugary foods like toffee apples coat your teeth for longer, giving cavity-causing bacteria more time to do damage.

The more often you snack on sugar, the higher your risk of decay.

Top tips for enjoying treats this Bonfire Night:
✔️ Try to enjoy sweets as part of a meal, not as a separate snack
✔️ Wait 30 minutes after eating before brushing your teeth
✔️ Drink water afterwards to help wash away sugar and acids

Enjoy the fireworks and the toffee apples! Just don’t forget to look after your smile too!

We know Halloween means plenty of sweets and we’re not here to spoil the fun! But did you know it’s not just how much sugar you eat that matters… it’s how often?

Every time we eat sugar, our teeth are exposed to acid attacks that can lead to decay. Multiple “sugar hits” throughout the day increase the risk of cavities.

Top tip this Halloween:
It’s better to enjoy your sweets all in one go (ideally after a meal) rather than snacking on them bit by bit all day. Wait around 30 minutes, then brush your teeth to protect your smile.

So go ahead, enjoy your spooky treats! Just remember your teeth will thank you for keeping the sugar to mealtimes!

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Dr Mike Field. One of the owners here at Tunbridge Wells Dental Centre! We asked Mike a few fun questions so you could get to know him a little better

💬 1. What inspired you to become a dentist?
👉 As a child I enjoyed biology and art, dentistry is the perfect combination of both. It also often involves a great deal of problem solving which keeps it interesting.

💬 2. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
👉 Meeting people! Particularly people who are anxious about seeing a dentist. I want to make sure they have a positive experience and leave the practice pleased they came

💬 3. If you weren’t a dentist, what career do you think you’d have chosen?
👉 I always fancied opening an omelette shop, but I don’t think omelettes and dentistry work well under one roof. Maybe when I retire!?

💬 4. What’s your favourite way to unwind outside of work?
👉 I love cooking! After work with music on, you can’t beat it. Some people see it as a chore but I genuinely find it relaxing.

💬 5. If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why?
👉 Went to Japan a few years ago for the rugby World Cup and I’m desperate to go back there with Melissa. It was a fascinating place with lovely people and fantastic food.

Mike’s passion for dentistry and his friendly, calming nature are just some of the reasons why our patients feel so comfortable in his care.
