We are looking to recruit an extra member of front shop staff. We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person. The chosen candidate will be required to do a Medicine Counter Selling course provided by ourselves. A people person who will be involved with all aspects of front shop pharmacy.

The candidate must be flexible to do any required overtime. We are looking for one and a half days of work with the occasional Saturday. 🙂

🤢💩 Caught norovirus? - here's our quick guide on what to do to help you feel better and prevent it from spreading to others.

TREATING NOROVIRUS

🔹 take paracetamol for any fever or aches and pains
🔹 get plenty of rest
🔹 use special rehydration drinks if you have signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth or dark urine. These are available in community pharmacies

Norovirus can be very unpleasant but usually clears up by itself in a few days. You can normally look after yourself or your child at home.

⚠️Avoid going to your GP, as norovirus can spread to others very easily.

📱Phone your GP practice or NHS 24 on 111 if you’re concerned or need advice.

PREVENTING THE SPREAD

🔹 stay off work or school until at least 48 hours after the norovirus symptoms have stopped
🔹 avoid visiting anyone in hospital during this time
🔹 wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water particularly after using the toilet and before preparing or handling food
🔹 be aware alcohol-based hand gels don’t kill the virus
🔹 disinfect any surfaces or objects that could be contaminated, using a bleach-based household cleaner.
🔹 wash any items of clothing or bedding that could have become contaminated separately on a hot wash (60°C)
🔹 do not share towels and flannels
🔹 flush any poo or vomit in the toilet and clean the surrounding area with a bleach-based household cleaner
🔹 avoid eating raw, unwashed food
🔹 only eat oysters from a reliable source as they can carry norovirus

Remember norovirus spreads very easily in public places such as hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Follow our hygiene tips above to prevent the virus from spreading further!

SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula.

The safety and wellbeing of babies is our absolute priority. As a precautionary measure, Nestlé is voluntarily recalling specific batches of its SMA infant formula and follow-on formula. This is due to the potential presence of cereulide in the batches concerned.

There have been no confirmed reports of any illness associated with consumption of the products concerned. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, Nestlé has decided to perform this voluntary product recall in line with their strict product quality and safety protocols. Consumers who may have these batches should not feed this product to their baby.

If you have purchased one of these batches, please share a photo of the product and the batch code via https://www.nestle.co.uk/en-gb/getintouch or by calling the careline on 0800 0 81 81 80 (UK) and they will refund you.

If you have been prescribed one of these batches listed please destroy the product and speak to your Healthcare Professional for advice on an alternative. Anyone concerned about their baby’s health should contact a healthcare professional.

All other Nestlé products and other batches of the same product that are not in the scope of this voluntary recall are safe to consume.

Batch codes can be found on the base of the tin or box for powdered formulas or the base of the outer box and on the side / top of the container for ready-to-feed formulas.

Hot water bottle safety🔥❄️🥶💧

During this cold period, just a reminder about the safety of hot water bottles, remember to discard them after 3 years max, as the rubber or PVC material degrades over time and use. This helps minimize the risk of the bottle splitting, leaking, and causing SERIOUS BURNS.

General tips:

• Never use boiling water; allow the water to cool slightly after boiling to prevent damage to the rubber.
• Fill the bottle to a maximum of two-thirds capacity and gently squeeze out excess air before securing the stopper tightly.
• Always use a cover or wrap the bottle in a towel to prevent prolonged direct contact with the skin, which can cause burns.
• Do not sit or lie on the bottle when it is filled.
• Store the bottle empty, with the stopper removed, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
• Do not use hot water bottles for babies or young children.
