Yesterday was pure Christmas joy at Tuxford Manor Care Home ๐ŸŽ„

Local singer Tina had our residents singing their hearts out to festive favourites, joined by Keeley, Millie and Katie dressed as a Snowman and two Gingerbread Men โ€” with Sally, Danielle and Jackie leading the singalongs and spreading the Christmas cheer throughout the morning.

And when Keeley (aka the Snowman) took to the dancefloorโ€ฆ our residents were up and dancing in seconds ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ
The room was filled with smiles, laughter, music and movement โ€” the kind of moments that stay with people long after the song has finished.

Days like this are about so much more than entertainment. They reduce feelings of loneliness, lift mood, encourage social connection and give residents something joyful to share, reminisce about and talk over together. Music especially has such a powerful way of unlocking memories, confidence and emotion โ€” and yesterday it truly worked its magic.

Seeing residents engaged, laughing together and feeling part of something special is exactly why activities like this matter so much. Itโ€™s not just a morning of fun โ€” itโ€™s about wellbeing, belonging and human connection. And thatโ€™s what great care should always look like. ๐Ÿ’›

What a proud moment for all of us here at Tuxford Manor! ๐Ÿ’œโœจ

Last night, our very own Jemma and Louise represented Tuxford Manor โ€” and the whole Strong Life Care family โ€” at the Great British Care Awards. They both looked absolutely fabulous!

Louise was delighted to Highly Commended for her outstanding work as Ancillary Worker ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽŠ

And weโ€™re thrilled to share the newsโ€ฆ
Strong Life Care WON the East Midlands Care Employer Award 2025! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

This award means so much. It celebrates the compassion, teamwork and dedication that our staff show every single day, and it highlights the difference made to residents through truly person-centred care.

We couldnโ€™t be prouder of Jemma for representing us so brilliantly โ€” and of every member of our amazing team who helps make moments like this possible.

What a night to remember! ๐Ÿ’œโœจ

Fantastic news from Tuxford Manor Care Home!
Weโ€™re proud to share that our team has been recognised by the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for Best Board for WSTPD โ€“ a brilliant achievement that highlights the importance of pressure ulcer awareness in care homes.

A huge well done to Julie Larder, our Tissue Viability Champion, and Keeley Ramsey, our Activities Co-ordinator, who created the award-winning awareness board. Julie also delivers our in-house React to Red training, supporting new staff to spot early signs of skin damage and understand how to prevent pressure sores.
This recognition matters.

Pressure sores โ€“ sometimes called pressure ulcers โ€“ remain a serious risk for residents who spend long periods in bed or seated. Prevention is everything: regular repositioning, good hydration and nutrition, skin checks, and pressure-relieving equipment all play a vital role.

At Tuxford Manor, we take tissue viability seriously because it protects comfort, dignity and quality of life.
A fantastic achievement โ€” and a testament to the passion, skills and vigilance of our team.

๐Ÿ“˜ React to Red โ€“ Learning Together at Tuxford Manor! โค๏ธ

At Tuxford Manor Care Home in Tuxford, Wednesday was all about learning and improving care as our wonderful team came together for a React to Red training day โ€” and our residents joined in too!

React to Red is a vital campaign that teaches carers how to quickly recognise early signs of redness or soreness on the skin, helping to prevent pressure ulcers before they develop.

We also explored Stop the Pressure, a national resource promoting best practice in understanding:
โœ” how pressure ulcers develop
โœ” key risk factors
โœ” the importance of early intervention
โœ” how carers can protect those most at risk

This campaign is linked to National Stop the Pressure Day, held this year on 20th November, which raises awareness across the UK about preventing pressure ulcers and improving care standards.

At Tuxford Manor, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent person-centred care, and sessions like these show how committed our team is to keeping residents safe, comfortable, and well.

A big thank you to our team โ€” and our residents โ€” for getting involved and making the day such a success. Together, weโ€™re always learning, always improving, and always caring. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ A Spooktacular Halloween at Tuxford Manor! ๐ŸŽƒ

It was all treats (and maybe a few tricks!) at Tuxford Manor this Halloween as residents, families, team members, and local children came together for a full day of spooky fun! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿงก

We started the morning with Jamieโ€™s Halloween-themed exercise session โ€” plenty of laughs and lively moves to get everyone ready for the day! ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽถ After that, everyone enjoyed a tasty buffet lunch, followed by an afternoon of great music and dancing with the brilliant Andy the singer. ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ

Later, our doors opened to the community as local children and their parents joined us for trick-or-treating around the home. ๐Ÿฌโœจ It was wonderful to see so many happy faces โ€” and for many of our visitors, it was their first time inside a care home!

We were truly touched by their kind words, with many saying how warm, friendly, and welcoming the atmosphere was. Thatโ€™s exactly what we love to hear โ€” because at Tuxford Manor, thatโ€™s what weโ€™re all about. ๐Ÿ’›

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us โ€” you helped make Halloween extra special this year! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ๐ŸŽƒ

A simple gesture, like including warm socks, toiletries, chocolates, or a handwritten card, can make all the difference โ€” reminding someone that theyโ€™re cared for and remembered. ๐Ÿ’•
