🚧 Important Patient Notice 🚧

From Monday 11th August, Princes Avenue will be closed for roadworks.

If you have an appointment with us during this time, please allow extra travel time as alternative routes are expected to be busier than usual.

We don’t want you to miss your appointment — plan ahead and give yourself a little extra time to get here.

Best Foot Forward

As you will be aware traffic lights have been in place on Princes Avenue for a few weeks to protect a carriageway sink hole.

It was hoped that United Utilities would take ownership of repairs as it is expected that the damage has been caused by a water leak/sewer collapse. United Utilities have checked their assets and reported to us that the issue isn’t caused by damage to their pipework.


This now means repairs need to be completed by Wigan Council contractors. This work will start on Monday 11th August under a full road closure – until the sink hole is broken out and the damage below ground is assessed, I can’t say at this time how long repairs will take.

I am fully aware that this will cause disruption on the network, especially given Mosley Common Road is only partially open and Wigan Council will work with TfGM to make adjustments to the lights on Hough Lane and the contractors to ensure works are completed as early as possible.

I never ask for reviews from patients, chatting with them and knowing they are feeling much better is more than enough for me. So when you get unexpected reviews and they go on to recommend me it gives me the biggest smile...👂
