Yes, we work weekends! (And evenings) ✅️

Yesterday the wonderful Kinder Castle staff completed the Paediatric First Aid course.

The blended option meant they could complete the theory element in their own time, before going through the practical assessment in person 🩺🥼👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Snow is starting to fall across parts of England, which means slippery paths and roads.

Take extra care when you’re out and about so you can stay safe and avoid winter injuries! ❄️

Really looking forward to this one!

We've got something different planned for next Thursday! We will be learning some Emergency First Aid, courtesy of Safe Workplace Training right here in Our Whitley Bay 😄

Officially starting from 7pm we will be doing the class in St Paul's Parish Church Whitley Bay. If anyone is available earlier we usually meet in a nearby cafe or pub🍻

What are you doing on Thursday the 27th? Want to learn (or brush up on) some potentially lifesaving skills? Simply drop us a message!🗣

As we enjoy the excitement of Bonfire Night, it’s important to remember that safety should always come first. Fireworks, sparklers, and bonfires are great fun — but they can also cause serious injuries if we’re not careful.

Fireworks Safety Tips:
Keep a safe distance.
Supervise children closely — sparklers can reach over 1,000°C!
Never return to a lit firework.
Keep a bucket of water or sand nearby for emergencies.

If someone suffers a burn:
Cool it immediately with cool (not ice-cold) running water for at least 20 minutes.
Remove any jewellery or tight clothing near the burn (unless stuck to the skin).
Cover the area with cling film or a clean, non-fluffy cloth.
Seek medical advice if the burn is large, deep, or affects the face, hands, or ge****ls.

Learn all about burns and how to treat them on one of our First Aid courses!

Keep your fire doors closed

Keep your fire doors closed

A picture speaks a thousand words. 🔥🚪

This is what a fire door looks like after doing its job.

Fire doors are designed to hold back fire and smoke, giving you precious time to escape and helping to save lives.

This Fire Door Safety Week, remember:
✅ Keep them closed
✅ Never wedge them open
✅ Don’t damage or tamper with them
✅ Report faults immediately

Fire doors aren’t just doors – they’re life savers.

Had an amazing day at Sim Fly!
I had so much fun flying in the simulator—the cabin setup is incredible, and I’ve never seen so many resources all in one place. I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be joining as an Associate Trainer, and I can’t wait to share ideas and help inspire the next generation of aviators! Simfly- Virtual Global Flying

Ever heard of a myth or an old wives’ tale and thought, “surely this can’t be true”? One we hear frequently is, “putting something in a seizing person’s mouth will stop them biting their tongue”.

This is completely FALSE!

We’re here to debunk fact from fiction. Here’s what you should actually do when someone is having a seizure.

What bizarre first aid myths have you heard of?
