Pearlaroma

Pearlaroma My aim is to support those who care for loved ones, a safe space to be nurtured & listened to.

With many years experience (including life experience) as an Aromatherapist (ITEC) and Flower Essence Practitioner (BFVEA), I'm here to help with emotional and physical issues that often arise at the time of the peri-menopause and beyond. With Flower Essences and Essential Oils, I can support you during times of change and upheaval. My massage skills can help with relaxation, stress relief and tight muscles and together with products to use at home you don't need to feel out of your depth, confused or alone, I'm here to support with powerful help from nature.

This morning my gratitude turned to the simple things. Coming back from a rather cold and bleak walk, my bowl of porridge was so welcoming and soon warmed me up. Interesting when we go back to basics what we really need are food, warmth and safety.

Today I'm grateful for this little beauty, that makes me smile whenever I walk into the kitchen. When much of nature is bedding down for the winter, these beautiful plants bring colour and joy. Isn't nature wonderful? I've 2 other cactus just starting to bloom so I'm good for a couple of weeks!

Whilst I prefer to stay away from the news I am aware that there is much going on in the world, that leads me to todays gratitude. Where I live.
Everywhere has it's problems - far too many to name generally, and yes we have issues in this relatively quiet part of England. This is not a political post but one of thanks that I can walk safely down our street, I'm not worried about bombs dropping, or living with the sound of fighting - instead I can hear the birds sing and children playing. I can walk into town and get some shopping. So again, I am very grateful for where I live.

Hope you're having a lovely Sunday.
Now I'm not big on having the latest 'toy', of any description but I am grateful for the equipment I have that makes my life easier. Quite how I'd manage without a washing machine I really don't know!
Having had a busy morning teaching and with family over for lunch I was so grateful to be able to load up the dishwasher instead of standing at the sink!

Today I am so grateful for the amazing space I can work in. It has a very special energy that makes it perfect for teaching Reiki.
For many years it has been a room of relaxation and peace. I am so thankful that Clive took the time to build such a beautiful space.

All ready for day 2 of a Reiki 1 attunement. I feel very privileged to be supporting a lovely lady as she starts her Reiki journey.

As I sat having my early morning cuppa - you know the best one of the day! The bin men arrived. It made me think "thank goodness for them".
So my gratitude today is for having my rubbish collected. The system is not always perfect but this isn't about the politics, but thankful for the people that man the lorries and collect the rubbish. Also to our local volunteers who, every Sunday, go out and clear our streets of assorted cans, wrapper, food and goodness knows what else! Thank you Brighter Uckfield.

My gratitude today is for freedom of choice. There are so many horrific instances throughout history and now, all over the world, where that freedom has been taken away.
Whether it is a choice of tea or coffee (I’m a typical Libra sun sign, so struggle with decisions 😉) or a life choice, a path to take. As recently made when I chose to retire from massage to work more with Reiki and Flower Essences. It wasn’t an easy decision but I know now it was the right one.
We make so many choices throughout the day, I am grateful to make them freely.
By the way - there is a very useful essence from the Bach range - Scleranthus - great for when we struggle with indecision whether it’s small or life changing.

Happy Monday! Another week starts. It's quite scary that as I'm slowing down, the days are going by quicker!
A question for you to start the week - What is one thing, large or small, that you take for granted everyday? Yet, without it your life would be more difficult or at least, less pleasant. Think about it, give gratitude for it and for everything that takes place for it to be there for you.
For me this morning it was a lovely warm shower, especially as I got soaked walking Rocco! I am grateful for everyone involved in putting the shower in the bathroom, the electricity to power it, the water - clean and warm that flows through it. I am grateful to all the man power that brings it about, and for the soap to clean me and warm towels to keep me cosy.
Thank you 💕

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, doing something you enjoy.
Today I'm grateful that I have a good sense of smell. Being an Aromatherapist smell is very important to me, I just can't imagine not being able to. It must be very hard to struggle with loss of any of our senses.
Aroma is a very personal thing, we all have different preferences - thankfully I enjoy most of the oils I work with but also love freshly brewed coffee and newly mown grass (which Clive does not!). Smell can bring up memories - I recall a true story told by my Aromatherapy teacher.
She used to work with Aids patients through the Higgins Trust and one lad kept turning up for his weekly appointment but wouldn't walk through the door. One day he arrived after her previous client had had Nutmeg in his massage blend. The lad stood there inhaling the aroma from her room and walked in - he said it reminded him of his mum who always put nutmeg on her rice puddings when he was a kid - he felt comforted and this gave him courage.
So I'm off to burn some lovely relaxing essential oils 😍
What are you grateful for today? Do you have a favourite smell?

I'm not the biggest fan of TV, I can't have it on all day - I find that extremely annoying. I don't watch the news and don't find violence in any form entertaining.
However, to day I am grateful for our TV. Tonight we are planning to watch a film - Sister Act 2 love the music and LOVE watching kids singing. It's an easy to watch, uplifting film to relax to after a busy week. So for me, in moderation, TV has a place. A few months ago we made the decision to only go to bed after watching something funny, I think it's made a difference to how we rest.
Are you watching TV tonight? What are you grateful for today?
Hope you're having a great weekend.

Do you enjoy being creative? I'm not particularly 'arty' but I love making things with knitting or crochet. Currently it's a blanket, I love watching it grow, the colours merging. Ellie (our little Staffie cross) enjoys it too as she normally curls up on it!
So today my gratitude goes to the 2 lovely ladies who taught me - my mum and a lady called Betty who owned the local wool shop where I worked when I was 15.
At this time of year I find it so relaxing to sit down at the end of the day, candles lit, fire too if it's cold, with a favourite TV programme on and carry on crocheting!
Have you a hobby you find takes you away from the noise?
