Thank you Sarah and Marisa from Dementia Singing Experience, Sussex for the wonderful craft session inspired by Troika – the distinctive art pottery founded in St Ives, Cornwall back in 1963.

Our residents had a wonderful time creating their own clay pieces, experimenting with texture, pattern and watercolours to capture the bold, abstract style that made Troika so iconic.

Step into the Victoria Wing and you’ll spot the purple uniforms of our wonderful dementia care team, led by Senior Nurse Violeta Patena, who celebrates 10 years at Temple Grove this January.

Violeta and her dedicated team bring compassion, understanding and positivity to some of our most vulnerable residents. As she says, “It’s the people who make the Victoria Wing such a special place to live and work.”

Senior Team Leader Colette Hodge, also marking a decade with us, adds: “Working at Temple Grove is like being part of a family… there is joy here every day.”

We recently marked World Spine Day at Temple Grove – a reminder of how important it is to keep our backs strong, flexible and supported.
From gentle yoga and gardening to nutritious meals and posture-friendly chairs, we build spinal health into daily life here. As Director Mark Ellison says, “Comfort, movement and care go hand in hand.”

Autumn is particularly special in Sussex and – on the edge of the Ashdown Forest – we’re perfectly placed to take in the season’s stunning colours. At this time of year our landscaped gardens and woodland walk come alive with golds and reds, admired by residents, visitors and everyone who works here. You don’t even have to go outside to take in the autumnal vibes; ground floor rooms open straight onto private patio areas, while upstairs, large picture windows are set low so everyone can enjoy the changing seasons.
