💪 Soft tissue injuries don’t heal overnight — but understanding the process can speed things up. Here’s a breakdown of the 3 key stages of healing and how a Sports Therapist supports each phase! 👇



🔴 1. Inflammation (0–72 hrs)
Your body’s alarm system! Expect pain, swelling, redness, and heat.
🧠 Goal: Protect the area, reduce stress.

💆‍♂️ Sports Therapist’s Role:
• Gentle massage away from injury to encourage drainage
• Ice therapy guidance
• Education & pain management



🟠 2. Proliferation (3–21 days)
The body builds new tissue — collagen starts forming.
🧠 Goal: Support repair without overloading it.

👐 Sports Therapist’s Role:
• Light, localized massage to increase circulation
• Controlled mobility & stretching
• Start basic rehab exercises



🟢 3. Remodelling (3 weeks–12+ months)
New tissue aligns and strengthens. Gradual return to full function.
