I handcraft each candle and artwork with slow attention so your space can become a steadying place. The process is deliberate. These objects are made to support nervous‑system regulation and quiet moments of presence, not to shout for attention. I make handcrafted essential oil candles and offer clinical massage therapy to help the nervous system find steadying rhythms. Each is rooted in simple physiology and slow attention — scent, texture and touch arranged to invite rest rather than distraction. If your days feel noisy, let a quieter surface hold you. I create candles and photographs that guide the body toward calm — subtle textures, quiet light and scent that asks you to slow down. Each piece is made to support mindful reflection and nervous‑system repair, not to impress a room. Visit my studio’s offerings and learn how scent and sight can reshape your space into a place of rest. https://wix.to/GdLr4nX

Seated Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana) — Shift Your Perspective
Twists wring out tension and clear space for new energy. The spine feels great after a good twist and it seems to improve digestion too.

A handcrafted candle collection designed to guide your mood and your moments.
I have a confession to make. I started exploring AI to help with my social posts. I have a very helpful AI marketing app, because let's face it, it's important to know where your strengths lie, and marketing is definitely not mine. Some of the content is useful, however you need to keep a very keen eye on what it is producing. Some of which has cheered my day up no end resulting in fits of giggles. Since laughter is a great form of medicine and helps keep your nervous system in balance, I thought I would share these with you every Monday. (I know today is Wednesday but I just couldn't wait.) Comment if you can spot the issue, some are more obvious than others.
Today, I observe Armistice Day with a quiet invitation to breathe and remember. Allow the body’s pulse to slow, notice light and scent, and hold a space of stillness for peace. If you seek a gentle way to mark this day, explore thoughtful practices and offerings at https://wix.to/ZrNeJmB

Today, on Remembrance Sunday, I invite a moment of stillness. Breathe in gently, notice the weight of the breath, the quiet light at the edges of thought. In that pause we hold respect, memory and balance. If you would like support finding calm, visit https://wix.to/8JimrqP

After many years of hearing family and friends say "you should do this for a living", I decided to take the plunge and start North Star Complementary Therapies. "Why North Star?" I hear you say? Well before the modern age of radio, radar and satellite there was celestial navigation. Has got a nice ring to it hasn't it, celestial? Guiding your path using the sun, moon, planets, and stars. Whilst the position of the moon, planets and stars constantly appear to move, there is one star that navigators can reliably find time and time again to get their bearings and set their course - the North Star! It is one of the brightest in the sky and the easiest to find.
Someone close to me once told me I was their North Star, their guiding light, helping them find their way when things got rough. It stayed with me. Our lives today are so busy and hectic, we push our minds and our bodies to their limits time and time again. We find we lose our way and don't always end up where we thought we would be. So how does all this tie in with complementary therapies? Well, it's times like this that I believe we should pause and take a moment for ourselves, to look for own internal North Star and reset our course. Take some time out in your day to relax and be kind to your body and your mind. To give yourself some quiet time and allow yourself some space to find yourself again whether it be a Massage, Reiki, Reflexology or Aromatherapy. I believe complementary therapies play an important role in maintaining our sense of wellbeing. These therapies do not treat a symptom, they treat you as a person holistically, both your body, your mind, and your soul.
What I enjoy most about being a therapist is the look on people's faces at the end of the treatment. Their shoulders are lower, they move more freely, the stress lines on faces have eased, they may even smile. It is then I feel I have done a good thing and what I am doing is worthwhile. Releasing a stubborn knot in a muscle also gives me great satisfaction!
