St Mary's Hospice

St Mary's Hospice Thanks to our community we can continue to make a difference when it matters most At St Mary's care is provided free of charge, but it is not cost free.

St Mary's Hospice is the dedicated provider in South Cumbria of comprehensive specialised supportive and palliative care for people with advancing illness. Our facilities and services are available to all adults who are facing the end of life, and to their families, carers and the bereaved. Patients with life limiting illnesses are cared for at the Hospice, as inpatients or by attendance at day clinics or therapy sessions, and - increasingly - at home. We care for patients facing the end of life, regardless of diagnosis, and for those who love them. Patients and carers may access our holistic programmes, addressing physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, at any stage of an illness. Just to maintain our current services costs around £3.5 million a year.

What a heartwarming visit from the adorable girls of 1st Holbeck Rainbows and some of their sisters! They brought beautiful handmade Christmas cards and a generous £60 donation to our St Marys family. After three magical weekends of Santa’s Grotto at Ulverston Market, Father Christmas, the Elves & the amazing team at Ulverston BID have raised a phenomenal £2,641.63 for us here at St Mary’s Hospice 💜

We'd love your help with proving a safe, non-judgement and confidential environment for our bereaved clients. We have a number of different roles available from a 1-1 or group setting.
