I'll say it before, and i'll say it again...

UTILITY ROOMS ARE THE BIGGEST WASTED SPACE IN THE HOUSE.

If you're lucky enough to have one (I'm crying because I'm not one of them!) then make it work for you!

No more 'chuck it in the utility room', no more 'i'll get to that later'.

Use the space! Store backstock of food and cleaning products. Store large appliances. Organise your laundry so it doesn't take over the rest of your home. Store your pet supplies out of the way. Create a boot room space to keep muddy football boots out of the hallway.

You aren’t bad at tidying. You’re just dragging a heavy backpack of mental load around with you wherever you go which spills out into your home.

Let me paint a picture: You’ve finally sent your last email for work. Your husband has finally got the kids in bed. Your PJs are on, and you’re this close to pressing play on the new series of Bridgerton.

But you can’t quite relax. You feel fidgety and your brain is still on 'go'.

It's because every time you look toward the TV, you’re actually looking at that box of "gifts" from your parents that you don't actually want. The school trip forms that need signing by tomorrow and laundry from a wardrobe that hasn't been updated since 2017.

It’s the 'Peripheral Vision Tax'. It’s that nagging feeling that your home is just one giant to-do list, and it’s exhausting.

At Room to Breathe Decluttering, I don't care about Instahomes, I care about your sanity and making your home work for you. I’m here to help you ditch the "just put it in the loft" or "pile it in a tub" method and create a home that actually supports you and your family's life not one that drains your battery.

You don’t need another cleaning routine or more storage. You need space to think and, more importantly space to to turn off the to-do list and find out which Bridgerton Brother is getting married this time!

If this sounds familiar then DM me now to book in your FREE initial consultation.

Some of you who have known me a LONG time may remember that I used to have a blog. A blog based around being a single parent whilst juggling dating, working and all the other stuff.

Part of what I now presume was my ADHD tendencies meant that I forgot to pay for my hosting when the going got rough over covid and lost 7 years worth of blogs...some probably for the best but some I still believe was blogger gold!

Anyway, I came upon a website which can find 'archived' websites and I won't lie, I had a little cry when I finally got to see it again! I made this little baby and used it as my creative outlet when I was feeling stressed, depressed and lonely.

I knew I'd written about my cluttered house and finding Marie Kondo's book and here it is. June 2017. The month I found my calling... without knowing it yet! 9 years on and here we are!

And keep your eyes peeled, I might republish that post on my Room to Breathe Decluttering website soon! The writing is top notch if I do say so myself!

Do you remember my blog? Let me know if you've been with me since then!!

  • those who have gone through a big life event eg. divorce, setting up a new business, moving in with a partner etc
