When you've got people like Tyson Fury and Paddy Pimblett using their platform to raise awareness about Mental Health and doing their part to help break the stigma. Then you know the conversation is gathering pace.
To anyone struggling right now - keep fighting, keep talking and keep going. 💪

25/12/2021

From all of us involved with the Start a Conversation Campaign we'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hopefully 2022 brings you nothing but great things.
Thank you for all your support over the past 12 months, it's certainly been a challenging year for many of us, ourselves included. But we look forward to continuing our work, bringing more events and podcasts and doing everything we can to make a difference to our island's communities.
So while today is a day of celebration and everything that goes with it, keep in mind there are still people struggling and this time of year can be unbelievably difficult for so many.
It's not about what's on the table or what expensive things are under the tree. The most important thing you'll ever have is the people around you. So make 2022 the year you make a difference, cherish those people who are always there when you need them, because not everyone has that luxury and if anything we've learnt over the past two years or so, it's that we all need someone to help us get through the challenges we all have to face.
Stay hopeful, stay gold and let's face 2022 together ⭐

Thursday was a great night, and we raised £1100 for the four charities which will be heading to them this week.

So Listen, Samaritans, Praxis Care Isle of Man and the Ballamona Association of Mental Health will receive the funds.

But we couldn't have had such a great night without a lot of help from these people and companies. Firstly Ian Thompson for the live music and Sound Records, Renegade Vintage clothing, Ballagrove Studios, Shellz Clarke, Hair and Beauty Network, CNBB Clothing, Hillingford B&B, Barber Code, No. 42, Waterstones, Cubbon House B&B, Secret Pizza Co, The Original Quids Inn, Shoprite, Matrix Arena, Compton Vaults, Black Velvet, Suzy Manton Art, Extreme Gadgets Store and, of course, Timeout IoM for the fabulous food.

But most of all we have to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who turned up, in difficult times, and spent their dosh with us and (hopefully) had a great evening and went home a winner!!

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the support, keep looking after each other, keep sharing

Start a Conversation

This is a new campaign based on the Isle of Man to help promote Mental Wellbeing on the Island. We started with the idea of a local musician, affect by the su***de of his friend, to get something into the local bars, pubs and clubs to act as a trigger to get help for people suffering from mental problems. But people want to help more, to raise more awareness, to let our community know that we all care and that we don’t want to lose anymore of our friends and family. So we are blossoming out, we’re going to run a year of events to raise awareness and money for local charities. Culminating in the Villa Marina with an awesome local music event on Friday 27th of November, but with events all around the Island in advance. The charities we are working with include Praxis Care, Ballamona Association for Mental Health, Reach, the Samaritans Isle of Man and Isle Listen.

If you’re struggling, talk. There are always people there, your friends and family need and want to know if you’re not o.k. If you need professional help talk to your G.P. who will refer you to the right people, or you can self-refer yourself to Mental Health Services. If you need immediate Crisis Help right now please call 624860, there are people who can help!

We must point out we are not Mental Health Professionals, we can not offer any individual guidance, however we will try to promote official support services within specialised areas more to the general public.

ANYONE IN NEED OF HELP SHOULD START THE PROCESS WITH THEIR G.P.
