One of the biggest barriers leaders tell us that they face in implementing effective employee mental wellbeing strategy, is that they struggle to get senior leadership buy-in, especially when some senior leaders worry about potentially opening the ‘floodgates’ of mental health problems at work.

The trouble is that unfortunately the ‘flood’ has already arrived, with 1 in 4 people struggling with a mental health problem right now, which is up from 1 in 10 people in 2019.

We know that this directly correlates with increased employee burnout, chronic stress, and absenteeism in the workplace, which will inevitably affect overall productivity, cost to the business, as well as increased ‘fire-fighting’ situations and work pressures on the HR teams.

Despite these concerns though, we find that progressive HR leaders really care about their people and are keen to develop and implement a mental wellbeing strategy that ensures all employees at work feel psychologically safe.

This is why we’re hosting another Employee Wellbeing roundtable event in collaboration with CIPD Cumbria Branch and Employment Law Burnetts Solicitors on:

‘Overcoming Obstacles to Good Mental Health in the Workplace in 2022’

Date: Thursday 17th March @ 12:30PM.

Together, we’ll unpick some of these challenges and share solutions to help you move forward in your wellbeing strategy.

In small-group breakout rooms, we’ll discuss key points such as:
📌The persistent stigma surrounding mental health disclosure in the workplace.
📌The Employer vs Employee perceptions of workplace attitudes to mental wellbeing.
📌Simple and practical steps to secure internal support for change.
