Jenni, our Senior Client Experience Representative:

In her day-to-day role, Jenni supports our clients to make sure they receive the very best service tailored to their individual needs. From offering advice on specific challenges to welcoming new clients and guiding them through the sign-up process, Jenni does it all! When not at work Jenni can usually be found at karting tracks around the country cheering on her son ( Jenni's family are huge motorsports fans - especially F1 ).

โœจ Fun Facts :
๐ŸŽญ Jenni is a hugely talented musical theatre singer with an incredible voice โ€“ sheโ€™s performed at the Palladium !
๐ŸŒ She spent four years in the Middle East, where she became a full-time cat (and dog!) rescue hero.
๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ She returned home with just 12 rescue cats and 4 rescue dogs โ€“ including Rory, Bear, Isla, Skye, Brunoโ€ฆ the list goes on!
๐Ÿน Jenni once had a pet hamster resuscitated four times, complete with multiple days in hamster intensive care (yes, really)!

Looking back, many people say there is one thing they wish they had known earlier when caring for a loved one.

That it is okay to ask for help sooner.

That small changes matter.

That you do not have to do everything yourself to be doing the right thing.

If you feel comfortable, what is one thing you wish you had known earlier? Let us know in the comments!

People who come from retail, hospitality or admin often excel in care, not because the work is similar, but because the values are.

They know how to listen, notice the small things and take pride in doing a job properly.

Our longer, un-rushed visits with clients mean there is time to slow down, build relationships and give the kind of support that feels thoughtful rather than rushed, something many people have been missing in previous roles.

If this sounds like the kind of work you would enjoy, speak with our team in Cleveland on 01642 309650 or apply online at https://go.homeinstead.co.uk/3xJqzDl

This Cervical Cancer Prevention Week is a chance to pause, share awareness, and talk about how cervical screening helps protect long term health.

Almost all cervical cancer cases are caused by HPV, a very common virus that most people come into contact with at some point. Screening now checks for HPV first, helping to spot risk early and prevent cervical cancer before it develops. For most people, results are reassuring, and for a small number, early follow ups help keep them safe and well.

If you are invited for a smear test, attending is one of the simplest ways to look after your health. For information and support, visit https://ukcervicalcancer.org.uk/.

Many parents find it hard to accept help from their children, even when they clearly need support.

Being helped by family can feel like a loss of independence or a reminder that roles have shifted, especially for someone who has always been the one looking after others. When help comes from someone outside the family, it often feels easier, more neutral and less emotionally loaded.

For many families, this is actually a relief. Support from someone else can ease tension, protect relationships and help a parent keep their confidence, while children can return to being sons or daughters rather than carers.

To explore support that helps protect independence and family relationships, speak with our Cleveland team on 01642 309650 or visit homeinstead.co.uk/cleveland.

When families start to worry about eating habits, it is often not about appetite but about repetition.

The same meals, the same snacks, the same easy options day after day. This is not always a preference. It can be a sign that planning, shopping or cooking has started to feel overwhelming.

Having a bit of support can help bring variety back in a gentle way. Planning meals together, shopping locally and cooking simple food alongside someone can support both nutrition and confidence, while helping families feel reassured that their loved one is eating well.

If this feels familiar and you would like to learn more about how care at home can help a loved one, contact our team in Cleveland on 01642 309650 or visit homeinstead.co.uk/cleveland.

Families often think the turning point will be a crisis or a big change, but more often it is something else.

It's the moment when a regular companionship visit starts to make everyday life feel easier again. Someone popping in for a chat, a walk, a bit of help with shopping or a shared cup of tea can lift mood, rebuild confidence and gently support routines.

For families we support, that consistency brings reassurance. You know your loved one is not spending long days alone and you can see the difference it makes to their wellbeing.

Companionship visits are often where support really begins to feel right.

If you are wondering whether companionship visits could make a difference, our team in Cleveland is happy to chat on 01642 309650 or via homeinstead.co.uk/cleveland.
