We have had a very busy and exciting day today! The children from the local school came to visit us today for arts and crafts and in honour of wear a fun hat to work day we decorated our own on paper! It was messy but fun! We especially enjoyed that the class really got involved and all came in fun hats! They also left some of their pictures with us for us all to enjoy.

This afternoon we held a tea party with some of the residents who enjoyed plenty of tea and some fun coloured cakes πŸŽ‚ The tea party was held for Lewis Carols birthday (which is next week) but we brought it forward in order to keep in our theme for the day. We also watched the Disney Alice in Wonderland, which we all enjoyed as some of us hadn't seen it before.

Today we have been getting our thinking caps on by playing the alphabet game. Today we did things you would find in a supermarket and we all did amazingly to get an answer for every single letter! We really racked our brains to do this and we were all very proud of the achievement πŸ‘ A very well done to everyone!

This afternoon activities have been busy getting ourselves ready for tomorrow. We have the local school coming in to visit us in the morning so we have been making sure we have everything ready. We can't wait to see our new friends again!

The sun has been shining today which we have enjoyed immensely! We are looking forward to the warmer weather already!

To help brighten our day up our arts and crafts session today was spent making butterflies! We were very creative with using tissue paper and paints to colour them in. This activity is great for creativity but also helps with fine motor skills by having to stick smaller pieces onto the page.

We followed into the afternoon with a few rounds of nature inspired bingo. We really enjoyed this and we loved having family members joining in and making the session even more fun!

We spent the morning exploring India as part of our Armchair Travel session and to celebrate Spicy Food Day. Our residents enjoyed reading interesting facts about India, colouring in mandalas, and sampling a selection of different flavoured crisps.

In the afternoon, we tried out another new game where residents were asked to shout out items they might find in their kitchen for each letter of the alphabet. Before long, things became very lively, with everyone calling out all sorts of different and imaginative answers!

This morning we had lots of fun getting creative (and a little messy!) with biscuit decorating β€” safe to say some treats were eaten just as quickly as they were made πŸͺ

The afternoon continued with a game of True or False, something new we’ve recently introduced. It’s been a great way for everyone to learn some interesting β€” and very silly β€” facts together.

We finished the day with a firm favourite upstairs: Name That Tune. As always, it brought plenty of smiles and a lovely sing-along that our residents truly enjoy 🎢

What an exciting day we’ve had!

This morning, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor β€” Alfie the Donkey. Our residents loved learning all about him and showering him with plenty of affection. As you can see, there were lots of smiles and plenty of photos taken ❀️

Donkey EARS thank you for another great visit!

The busy morning didn’t slow us down, as we carried on into the afternoon with a fitness session. Everyone enjoyed the challenge, and it was a great way to keep warm and stay active.

We have been busy! Emily and Sam took a couple of our residents out for a rainy visit to the garden centre - which included a nice sit down and a warm cup of tea β˜•

Toni kept the rest of our residents busy with a morning of name that tune and other games.

We ended the day with some colouring and a general knowledge quiz! Did you know a shark has no bones? 🀯

It's been a lovely sunday today where we have been celebrating Audrey's birthday! Happy birthday πŸŽ‚ we hope you've had a great day!

This afternoon we were feeling crafty and so have been decorating paper plant pots to help bring some colour and cheer since the weather is still not the best. We are definitely looking forward to the weather getting a bit warmer so we can go outside and do some proper gardening!
