This nitrate free handmade artisan bacon has been skilfully cured by Rich Summers with Pork from a free range Saddleback cross gilt. The pigs are a traditional breed, selected for quality and flavour of the pork and with a bit of extra fat that helps keep the meat moist whilst cooking.

Last weekend we were down at the Riverside Festival in Charlbury cooking non-stop to feed many of you enjoying the music and sunshine. Here you can see 2 of our young butchers cooking some of the many many burgers that were ordered (so many that we sold out!)
We had burgers of many varieties; beef, pork, venison and lamb as well as chicken wraps all made from the local, organic, free-range or pasture-fed and nutrient dense meat that we know you all enjoy.
We hope that you are also enjoying summer and cooking up delicious meals to enjoy in the sunshine too!

This Kites Nest Farm pure Shetland Hogget is produced by farmer Rosamund Young (author of The Secret Life of Cows) at Kites Nest Farm near Broadway in the Cotswolds.

It is a magical place where the welfare of the animals comes first. Both the cattle and the sheep live in family groups and have the freedom to roam and graze a variety of species rich grassland, woodland, herbs, shrubs and flowers.

We currently have both Cow Shares and BBQ Boxes available from Trecorras Farm. They raise the Red Poll Cow which is one of the traditional native British dual purpose breeds. It thrives on low input management systems as it is an efficient converter of forage requiring little or no additional feed. Producing outstanding beef from a diet of grass alone. The boxes contain a mix of delicious cuts and are perfect for stocking up on nutrient dense food while supporting small farms.
