On this Remembrance Sunday, we pause to honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of all those who gave their lives in conflicts past and present. Their dedication and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Celebrating Occupational Therapy Week – 3–9 November

This week, we’re proud to support Occupational Therapy Week and shine a light on the incredible work of our occupational therapists.

The newly launched campaign from the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) – Right Support, Right Time: Unlocking the Power of OT – is all about shifting from crisis care to prevention-focused support. It’s a call to embed occupational therapy earlier in people’s lives, helping them stay well, independent, and connected to the things that matter most.

Occupational therapists help people live fuller lives by supporting their health, wellbeing, and ability to do the everyday activities they love.

We’re incredibly proud of our OT teams and thank them for the vital work they do every single day.

Mental health is an important area of need within Richmond borough - and one that often goes unnoticed due to stigma, particularly among men. Every November, Men's Mental Health Month aims to reduce this stigma by encouraging conversations about mental health and supporting mental health charities, as well as charities that are working to address some of the root causes of mental health issues.

Keep an eye across our social media this month to find out more about initiatives in our borough that are supporting and raising awareness for men's mental health.

“Caring for the Carer – Supporting Mind, Body & Heart”

We understand that caring for others — whether it’s a loved one, a client, or someone in your community — can be incredibly rewarding, but also emotionally and physically demanding. 💭

This week, Visiting Angels South Middlesex joins International Stress Awareness Week to shine a light on the importance of self-care, balance, and emotional wellbeing for caregivers and families alike.

💙 Caring for others starts with caring for yourself.
🕊️ Take time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with what brings you peace.
🌸 Small daily habits — like mindful breathing, short walks, or sharing your feelings — can make a big difference.

Let’s use this week to talk openly about stress, support one another, and make wellbeing a priority — because a cared-for caregiver is a stronger, happier one. 🌿
