BROKEN ARMS, BROKEN LEGS, NECK IN A BRACE
GOODNESS ME! EVERYTHING IS BROKEN!

Imagine someone after an accident: they have been rescued and taken to hospital and are convalescing in the hospital bed.

In spite of their injuries and all the bandages and the fact that they can’t do much physically just yet, they are still the same person
just a bit broken and needing time to heal.

Imagine further that when you visit them in hospital they tell you of their intentions to make you a 3-course dinner that night and then get frustrated and upset that they can’t and exclaim “I’m useless
I can’t do anything!”
what would you say to them?

I’m guessing something along the lines of: “You’re not useless, you’re just a bit broken at the moment. You are still YOU under all the injuries and bandages, you just need to heal and get better and then you will be able to do all the things you want to
”

NOW


What if their injuries are not physical? What if they are emotionally and mentally a “bit broken”? The same applies!

In spite of all their symptoms and behaviours – drinking, over-eating, panic-attacks, hair-pulling, OCD, insomnia, low mood – and the fact that they can’t do much physically and emotionally just yet, they are still the same person
they’re just a bit broken and need time and help to heal.

imagine further that this emotionally and mentally injured person is frustrated that they can’t “just stop”; overcome or best cope with all of their symptoms and behaviours and want to “snap out of it” and just “be normal” and so become frustrated and upset that they can’t and exclaim “I’m useless

Anxiety is brilliant at convincing us that we’re stuck with it.

But here’s a tiny mindset hack that genuinely helps
Add the word ‘yet’
If you find yourself thinking
‘I can’t cope with this’ add ‘yet’
‘I can’t calm down
 yet’
‘I can’t change the way I feel 
yet.’

It’s small, but it turns a dead-end into a pathway.
A little reminder that your brain can learn, grow, and adapt, even on the wobbly days.

One word. Big shift. Give it a try.

Red flags in relationships can include:
‱ Jealousy that feels suffocating.
‱ Excessive control over your life.
‱ Isolation from friends and family.
‱ Gaslighting (“that never happened”).
‱ Belittling or constant criticism.
‱ Threats or intimidation.
‱ Love bombing, too much too soon.
‱ Disrespecting your boundaries.
‱ Blaming you for their behaviour.
‱ Making you feel afraid or unsafe.

A healthy relationship has no room for red flags. Trust your instincts if you see these signs and reach out for support.

The Toxic Monster You Saw in the End Is Who They Are
It’s tempting to give a narcissist the benefit of the doubt when they “play nice.” They may apologise, act charming, or promise change. But never forget the truth: the toxic monster you saw at the end is who they really are.
Narcissists can be experts at pretending. They know how to twist words, feign remorse, and manipulate your emotions. But those rare moments of “kindness” aren’t a sign they’ve changed—they’re a tactic to regain control or keep you hooked.
Trust your instincts. If something felt wrong before, it’s not your imagination. They may try to confuse you, gaslight you, or make you feel guilty for doubting them. Never let their brief acts of charm erase the pattern of abuse.
Healing starts when you accept reality and stop hoping for change. Protect yourself. Set boundaries. And learn to recognise the signs early, so you don’t waste time and energy on someone incapable of true empathy.

They don't dislike you because you did something wrong. They dislike you because you see them for who they really are. You see beyond the surface — past the charm, the smiles, the carefully curated image they show to the world. You notice the subtle digs, the shifting stories, the emotional games designed to keep people confused and controlled. You’ve stopped accepting the half-truths. You question what doesn’t make sense. You see how they twist reality, shift blame, and turn every confrontation into an opportunity to play the victim.

They don't hate you because you hurt them — they hate you because your clarity threatens the comfortable fiction they've created around themselves. You’ve become a mirror they can’t stand to look into, because your presence reflects their manipulation, their emotional dishonesty, and their fear of being truly seen. And instead of confronting their behavior, they target your awareness. They label you as “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “the problem,” because that’s easier than facing the truth you represent.

But the truth is this: being disliked by someone who thrives on lies, control, and illusion is not a loss — it’s a form of liberation. It means you’re no longer under their spell. It means your spirit resisted their control. And even though they may smear your name or try to rewrite the story, deep down, they know you saw them — the real them — and they’ll never forgive you for that.

But that’s not your burden to carry. Keep standing in your truth. You didn’t lose them — they lost access to someone they couldn’t manipulate.

🌟 Happiness Doesn’t Just Happen 🌟
It’s not magic. It’s not luck.
It’s what we do.

We often think happiness will just turn up one day. But the truth is, if we don’t do the things that bring us joy

If we don’t arrange to meet up with friends, we miss out on that laughter-filled evening.
