We had a such a lovely day celebrating VE day, lots of music and laughter, dancing, cake and sharing of memories, thank you so much to everyone who made this such a special day. Since our last post weve had lots of fun and some special times to celebrate..birthdays, Easter, St.Georges day our first indoor visits..a very special day ♥️ and lots of smiles as weve made some amazing hats and decorations ready for these events. Thank you to an amazing team who have all made this possible for our residents x🙂

Weve been enjoying lots of birthdays this month too and January..and one very special lady is now 101years old and had a lovely day seeing her family at a window visit..weve been helping with the preparations and the birthday residents have had balloons, gifts, cakes games and music, everyone enjoyed all the fun and sharing special days together.

Weve been having a lovely time enjoying our new dining room and activity area, were we now have more space to socially distance and still have some fun together. Valentine's day was full of fun, laughter, flowers and music and a time to remember loved ones and shared a few tales of past times. We spent January making crafts and reading and enjoying some lovely art pieces, poems and gifts from the local community, which put big smiles on everyones faces. Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the pandemic and through some very difficult times for us all, we hope to see you all as soon as visiting arrangements are in place, but please continue to use the window visits, facetime, whattsapp, letter or just call on the phone in the mean time to keep in touch with your loved ones. The nicer weather is almost here and we can all enjoy some much needed sunshine and our lovely garden.

Weve been busy getting everything ready for Xmas day and bringing some early Xmas treats and smiles to all the residents faces today, reflecting on the simple things in life like smiles, xmas stocking, laughter oranges in sacks and lots of sweets !!🙂...this has been a very challenging and tough year for everyone, but hopefully we can enjoy the simple things in life and support each other through it all..the end is near hopefully..Merry Xmas everyone..more pictures to follow of your loved ones over the Xmas and new year festivities..🎄🎁x

Lockdown has been hard for everyone, but weve been working hard to keep everyones spirits up and been very busy in our social bubbles..weve celebrated birthdays, made Halloween and Remembrance day decorations, joined in lots of games, crafts, quizzes and discussion group and have enjoyed some laughter and activities in each others company..we have also taken time out to recall some memories of the war time and remembered those who are no longer with us.🌺..A huge thank you to all the staff for joining in and helping to put a smile on everyone face every day♥️

We had a lovely VE day, with time to remember, lots of flag waving, singing and dancing and activities, ending with an old fashioned high tea. Thank you to all the staff who made this day so special, the smiles say it all 🙂.Were all looking forward to our next event hopefully in the garden and will be planting some flowers to enjoy on the day.

Mary celebrated her birthday on Thursday with the staff who had arranged a very special day for her, with cake, candles, singing, gifts and cards from her family, she had a wonderful day and was full of smiles all day long. 🙂🎂

We will be adding more pictures of your loved ones and their special days shortly, and will be updating you all about how we are keeping your loved ones in good spirits despite the lockdown. We have lots of activities and special days planned and are looking forward to sharing them all with you.

Tommorrow we will share some pictures of our wonderful VE day celebration, everyone really enjoyed the whole day, we had lots of cakes, singing, dancing and lots of fun activities 🇬🇧

Hi Everyone, we will be back on here very soon posting pictures and updates to help keep you all in contact with your loved ones, as well as the facetime and phone calls they are already enjoying, and I must say most are also becoming suprisingly expert at this already!

My first post on here is also to thank all the amazing staff here at Upminster nursing home for everything they have done over the past few weeks you have all kept on smiling and making sure those living here have had lots of fun times despite the pandemic,and have all gone above and beyond and worked so hard..A huge thank you to you all.♥️
