On my walk last night with Blossom đŸ¶, I realised how cold it was đŸ„¶! The cold makes us contract and pull ourselves in, but this actually makes things worse as well as leading to more stiff, tense joints so aches and pains get worse.

The best way to combat the cold is to expand into it. Let the breath expand your rib cage and feel yourself get wider and taller into the space around you. This will improve blood flow and circulation and make you feel warmer. The added bonus is your muscles won’t be tensing so you’ll feel less achey! Give it a try and let me know how you get on.

Lovely feedback from after giving her a short introduction to the Alexander Technique.

Even within those 5 minutes she could pick up on the subtle and sensitive touch of an Alexander Technique teacher’s hands. The gentle touch guides and helps quieten the nervous system, allowing the release of deep muscular tension. This can lead to feelings of warmth, lightness, fluidity, ease, or a feeling of become taller.

Always lovely to hear positive feedback and the difference the Alexander Technique is making. Before and after pictures really help to show the postural realignment that takes place in sessions when right muscles are related, allowing the body to breathe and reach its full statue.
