***UPDATE***

Hello you lovely lot.

So it doesn't look like I will be returning to work just yet and I'll be awaiting further advice not just from the government but also from my governing body.

In the meantime I have been keeping myself busy with plenty of work related stuff and today have undertook a covid-19 based course to further understand how we can all work together to keep one another safe.

I will as ever be continuing to keep hygiene within the clinic at the top of my list of priorities but today's course has hit home at some changes that we will all need to make at least for the foreseeable.

These changes will mean that there will be some change to the way in which appointments may be carried out and I will keep you all updated once given the green light to continue practicing again.

Last of all I have a fair few names of those who would like to be put on a priority list for when I do resume back to work.

If you would like to be put on this list please message me directly via text message,WhatsApp,email or direct message with your generally preferred days and times and I assure you I will do my utmost to fit you in during the first fortnight of re-opening.

Those that have already messaged me can you just confirm days and times you would prefer also please.

Manny thanks
Stay Safe
Jack

Today's post is a double header making up for yesterday's....
With a lot of talk about football and it's possible return of which I would love to see happen I do have my reservations. It seems fitting for me to let you in on what football has done for me.

Football has been a part of my life from the moment I could walk and from that point I have known no different.

Upon leaving university and getting my degree i started working at Dagenham&Redbridge FC which then led to me working at Grays Athletic FC for a number of years and being part of my first league winning side as a sports therapist! During this time I also started working for my club that I was brought up to love (West Ham UnitedFC) and gained a lot of invaluable experience doing so whilst also travelling throughout Europe during this time.

Not so recently I was then gratefully given the role of lead sports therapist at Hornchurch FC and was able to set up my own clinic to work from whilst doing this role. In the past 4 seasons (if we count this seasons abandonment) I have once again been part of a league winning side and what a side it was.

What I wanted to say from this post was that at times when the wider population give football a bad name.....

-Football from the moment I could walk gave me a purpose.
-Football has since gave me a platform to ply my trade.
-Football has provided for me and my family and has enabled me to confidently set up my own my own business in doing so.
-Football has also provided me with people I now regard as good friends not just in the UK but all over the world.
-Football like sport in general isn't just a game for some of us it's our lives.

The first of this week's daily positive posts go to the birthday boy Jamie smith! So happy birthday mate! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰.

Jamie came to me a couple of years back just in need of a sports massage. Since then I have seen him at the clinic with a few issues none of which have set him to far back as he continually smashes through his goals.

To name a few of Jamie's achievements over recent years he has a 5k pb of 20:30 a 10k on of 44:47 a 1/2 of 1:35:40 and a full marathon of 3:38:01 not to mention he has been seeing a lot of his bike recently and managed to complete 46 miles last summer in the ride London in a time of 2:34:31.

If you are ever at a muddy run even (a nuclear race) you can bet your life on it that if you look somewhere towards the front end you will be sure to see him making his way round. I've lost count of the amount of medals he now has to his name but they are just a small accreditation of what he has achieved so far.

I certainly am looking forward to hopefully what the rest of the year brings and also next year to make up for some lost time of the last couple of months πŸ’ͺ.

Well done mate! I've included a little picture of what you took of me putting you through some pain for good measure! πŸ˜€

Today's positive post goes to Alex Addai.....

I first got to know Alex in 2015 and not long after he joined Grays Athletic FC he sustained a serious injury. We decided that although it was quite serious we could manage this conservatively (no need for an operation).

After months and months of being patient and then a lot of hard work Alex had regained his fitness and had found his way back into the squad for our fa cup tie against Welling. After almost a hour of play he was called upon and as with any sub coming on I always give them a good luck shout but today was a bit different. We had a laugh and a joke and my exact words were when you score you know what to do. Within 10 minutes he hit the ball as clean as a ball could be hit at Millfield and the ball nestled into the top corner. The celebrations following can be seen from the pictures. πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

This was probably one of my best days working in football alongside being part of two league winning sides in my short time working as a sports therapist in the game.

Since this I still regularly see Alex as he comes in for regular treatment and prehab sessions and I couldn't be more proud of how far he has taken his game as he now plys he's trade at league level for Cheltenham Town!

Seeing your name pop up on the vidiprinter and hearing Jeff Selling shout your name on a Saturday afternoon always brings a smile to my face!

Keep smashing it mate πŸ’ͺ
