Not all helmets are created equal… 🚲

Skater-style helmets can often be heavy, bulky and poorly fitting for little riders — making it harder for them to move comfortably and confidently.

A lightweight, well-fitted cycling helmet makes a huge difference. It’s safer, more comfortable and helps children focus on riding (not adjusting their helmet!).

Fox Top Tip! 🚲😀

If your child is struggling to reach their brake levers, there’s an easy fix.

Look for the small grub screws on the brake levers that allow you to adjust how far the lever sits from the handlebar. A quick turn can bring the brakes closer, making them much easier for little hands to reach.

Small adjustment, big difference for confidence and control! 🙌

Save your child the pain! 🚲🚨

Soooo many children have had their chin pinched by a dreaded helmet clasp 😬 And let’s be honest, they never quite forget that experience.

When you’re doing up your child’s helmet, try holding the clasp from the top instead of the sides.

If your fingers sit on top of the clasp, the worst that can happen is you nip your own fingers. Ow! 😅 Still, much better than those awful chin nips.

Little tricks like this make cycling time much happier for everyone! 🚲✨

Here’s something that many parents find surprising when they arrive at our CycleKids sessions 👇

Children often respond better to a 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 than to their own parents - especially when nerves appear.

That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
It simply means you are your child’s safe place. And sometimes, a calm outsider can help them take the small step out of their comfort zone that’s needed.

Asking for help isn’t giving up.
It can protect your relationship - and their confidence.
