Eversley Care Home

Today a mobile boutique came to Eversley and brought a shopping experience for the residents. It’s important for their dignity and independence to feel normal by choosing their own clothes. Thank you to James and Kay for bringing the lovely quality clothes again and thank you so much to Tammin for your help today.

We put another tree up today which I must admit looks beautiful.

A game of lego and dominoes were also on the agenda and the hairdresser came and did some of the residents hair.

We’ve got a wish tree now, last week the residents were asked if they had one wish what would they wish for. Admittedly some of their wishes were not doable. One resident wished to get married and have children another wanted to go abroad and another resident wished to walk again. I asked them to choose another wish that I would try my very best in 2026 to fulfil. Watch this space.

Busy day all round

A trip into town for one lady Friday morning for a look around the shops then a nice hot drink in the cafe.
In the afternoon we had a few games of word search on the interactive table, always a firm favourite activity.

We started to put the decorations up at Eversley yesterday morning so looking a bit more festive, lots more to do inside and out.
It was eyes 👀 down for a few games of bingo in the afternoon. Every week we have someone new who joins in.

Yesterday it was pamper day, hair and nails. A trip out to town for one of our ladies. Nathan our personal trainer came to give the residents a gentle workout then a few games of dominoes.

Friday we played our favourite game on the fabulous interactive table, word search then a few games of bingo in the afternoon.

This morning we did some flower arrangements for the dining room tables. It’s always lovely to see fresh flowers in the home as well as the lovely smell.
This afternoon I went round the residents asking if they had one wish what would it be. Some of the answers were so humbling.
I’ve got a task on my hands in 2026 to try and make their wishes come true as much as I can. I’ll do my very best.

Our Christmas Party is 15th December 2.00pm at Eversley. All families welcome. Because of space 2 per family if that’s ok.
This lovely lady will be performing a selection of Christmas songs, Father Christmas will make an appearance and there will be some scrumptious food.

The residents were treated to two little Shetland ponies today who were so well behaved and so cute. One was called Lollipop and the other was called Moomin.

They absolutely loved them and seeing them smile makes our job worthwhile.
Spending time with animals and petting them is so important to the residents as it supports emotional, physical and social well being…it can reduce stress and anxiety and enhances social interaction as well as benefits cognitive function.
