"Dementia plays out differently in everyone's home and you have to do what's right for your family dynamic and what's right for your person."

Emma Heming Willis is showing us the quiet, heart-wrenching strength that caregivers carry. Managing her husband Bruce Willis’s progressive frontotemporal dementia (FTD) disease, an early-onset form of dementia affecting about 50,000–60,000 Americans, she made the painful but necessary choice to move him into a one-story home close to their family home that is tailored to his care needs. FTD requires a calm and serene environment, and this move has given Bruce stability, while also allowing their teen daughters to simply be kids again. "They can have playdates and sleepovers again and not have to walk around tiptoeing," Emma shared with People.

Emma is shedding a light on the impossible choices caregivers make every day. A 2025 study from AARP shows that 63 million Americans are family caregivers, a 50% increase from 2015. Caregiving is love. It’s sacrifice. It’s resilience. But too often, it’s met with judgment instead of understanding. Emma’s openness displays the strength it takes to care for someone else while also protecting your family’s well-being.

Libra Care Services is looking for a deputy manager to work 3 days a week (12 hour shift) to support the registered manager, Melissa.

Libra Care Services is a small local team whereby the role involves supporting the team, maintaining compliance with training, care plan reviews and covering client visits in staff absences/holiday. In addition to supporting a recruitment plan to expand and grow the local team.

It would suit an individual who is organised, driven and wants to progress by completing their level 5 diploma in health and social care or who has recently qualified and is looking to start putting theory into practice.

True words!
So much more than “just a carer” 💛

“Well, better than wiping bums, isn’t it?”

That’s what my mum said to me when I told her about my day 'off' this week
And it hit me like a punch to the gut.

Not because she meant it cruelly, she didn’t.
But because that one throwaway line carries so much of what carers hear, feel, and are made to believe.

That somehow, this work isn’t enough.
That if you’re “just a carer,” you could have done better.
That wiping bums is all we are.

But here’s the truth:

I’m not just wiping bums.
You’re not just wiping bums.

We are restoring dignity.
We’re managing meds, emotions, care plans and crises.
We’re showing up when no one else does.
And some of us are doing it while building businesses, raising children, and fighting to be seen.

It maddened me. It saddened me. But mostly, it reminded me why I work so hard to change the story.

So if you’ve ever been made to feel like your work isn’t “enough,” this is for you:

You’re not “just” anything.
You are everything to the people you care for.
And you are part of something bigger - a care revolution.

Let’s keep rewriting the narrative.

We are excited to expand our Team 💛
Job Title: Deputy Manager
Location: Verwood BH31 and surrounding areas

We provide quality domiciliary care for private clients which incorporates time for companionship - meaning no rushing around. Our staff feel valued with excellent support from our management and carer team.

For this role we are looking for a candidate who:

- Is NVQ level 3 or above
- Has experience as senior carer and deputising management
- Is over 18 and a driver with access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Will work 3 days of 12 hour shifts per week (Week 1 days can be flexible)
- Every second week will include 2 days over the weekend (every other weekend worked)
- Is a team player and can step in to cover care visits for staff absence/holiday

In return we offer:

- Quarterly performance related bonus of up to £450.
