Do you have time?

It's really tough to find the time for ourselves, isn't it.

We're always busy caring for others, running around after the kids or sorting out the pets.

Sometimes work takes over and before we know it we are exhausted trying to fit everything in.

In 2022 a published research paper found that by adding 10 minutes of exercise a day approximately 110000 early deaths a year could be prevented in the US in populations aged 40-85 yrs old.

Adding 20-30 minutes each day could do even more!

Exercise can significantly increase your mobility, reduce pain and improve our mental health. It also increases our stamina and capacity to focus.

Why not pop over to our website or YouTube and find our free 10 minutes beginners mat sequence and start adding ten more minutes of movement to your day!

H is a professional eventer (equestrian) and has attended 2-3 times a week since April - a combination of mat, reformer and tower classes. What we love is hearing how well her body is moving outside of class and how H feels stronger than she did when she was riding professionally.

With so much gratitude and admiration I post these pictures and testimonial from H 🙏

'I started Stacy’s classes when I was 6 months postpartum, 5 months later and I’m still in shock with the changes I’ve seen in myself. I feel stronger, more in tune with my body and the peace I get from her classes let me be the best version of myself. At the age of 40 I can cope with the pressures of mother hood and feel stronger now than I did in my 20s… even after running around after a toddler and baby. I highly recommend Stacy, her attention to detail is second to none and feel the results speak for themselves. I've lost 3 stone. I’ve eaten in a calorie deficit, I do weighted walking I.e walk everyday carrying my baby and make sure I do my 10k steps. I was going to go the weight loss jab route but I had pancreatitis so I wasn’t allowed so I choose to do Pilates instead and I’m super glad I did…Money much better spent!'

2 truths and a lie...

Imagine a whole Summer with no sun at all

Imagine buying a designer handbag only to find out it's a fake!

Imagine going to a Pilates class and finding out you are not getting Pilates!

2 of those are sadly true and happen daily.

Let's chat spades...

A spade doesn't pretend to be a garden fork, it does a similar job but ultimately you get more on a spade than a fork, you get more work from a spade, you dig deeper.

So many people experiencing Pilates for the first time and they hurt themselves or it's so intense they are overwhelmed. Those people expected a PILATES class and unknowingly to them they got something very VERY different, or that turned up to an actual Pilates class and wondered where the squats were 🫨

Now imagine those people don't ever try it again with a knowledgeable teacher teaching the method as it was intended 😢

It's happened twice this week, 2 people injured or put off Pilates...

A story I'm hearing all to often 🤬

One in her late 20s wanting to follow the trend of Reformer Pilates classes only to get injured doing 'feet in straps'

Another mid 50s given intermediate exercises in a 'beginners flow' class, groin strain and totally overwhelmed by the reps and 'holds'.

Thankfully I administered damage control and have helped them find their confidence using the apparatus and both are thriving in their movement and mindset.

It's angering me that our industry is getting diluted, with excuses of progressive movement, this is what Joe would have done - at NO point did Joseph Pilates say do this to music, pulse incessantly, squat and lunge and have no precision or learn control.

And let's not be so presumptuous to speak for the ONLY master in this method, Joseph Pilates!

Pilates needs deinfluencing...we have a duty of care to inform. There's room for everyone doing their thing but let's start being honest, call a spade a spade, have some integrity and humility in what we are teaching, instructing and delivering to the public.
