Hey- unfortunately I have some bad news...we've just been told that because of the work they are doing at the club, they have to dig up the floor in our room, which means for an 'estimated' 5-6 weeks we cannot have class there π I will try to come up with an alternative, but venues in Hawkhurst are limited and likely booked up. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know x π
Eagle Pose, also known as Garudasana, is a balancing yoga posture where the arms and legs are wrapped around each other while balancing on one leg. It's a full-body pose that requires focus, balance, and body awareness.
*Improves balance and coordination: The balancing aspect of the pose challenges your stability and focus.
*Strengthens legs and core: The pose strengthens the muscles in your legs, core, and upper body.
*Stretches hips, shoulders, and back: It provides a deep stretch to the hips, shoulders, and upper back.
*Increases focus and concentration: The pose requires you to be present in the moment and focus on your breath and balance.
Garuda is a figure from Hindu mythology, typically depicted as a large bird-type creature (eagle) and is known as the mount of the Hindu god Vishnu.
*Symbol of Strength and Courage: His powerful physique and speed make him a symbol of strength and courage.
*Symbol of Freedom: He is a symbol of freedom and liberation, as he represents the ability to transcend earthly limitations.
*Guardian and Protector: As Vishnu's mount, Garuda is seen as a protector of dharma (cosmic law and order)

Welcome to Every Body Needs Yoga. I am very passionate about making yoga accessible and inclusive to everybody and every BODY.
I began my yoga journey (Iβm not a fan of the whole βbeen on a journey thingβ but itβs true!) over 5 years ago when I met the beautiful Kate Ashley who made me fall in love with the power of yoga and all it can bring in to your life. I was instantly hooked and it felt like it was the something that had been missing from my life. She taught me not only an amazing asana practice but also taught me how to live yoga in everything I do and this stays with me now throughout my practice and my life.
Yoga is a beautiful and inclusive practice that has nothing to do with the price or size of your leggings (or the male equivalent of leggings because men do yoga too!). It doesnβt matter if you canβt touch your toes (the amount of people who give that as a reason not to try yoga is crazy!) or if you struggle to get up and down off the mat. There is a practice for you. Yoga embraces everybody and every body; it offers the same benefits no matter if you are a size 2 or 22+, if you are 20 years old or 80 years old, if you can afford to buy Β£100 leggings or buy Β£7 leggings from Aldi (side note-Aldi leggings are the best!).
My goal is to create a safe space where everyone can feel comfortable and at ease when they practice and move their body; no judgements, no competition, no exclusions and no expectations. Every body can do yoga, every body deserves yoga. Yoga meets you where you are and invites you to explore where your body can take you.
I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with the amazing Be Yoga in Haywards Heath and have completed several other short courses on accessible and inclusive yoga. In my βreal jobβ I am a social worker with an NHS mental health service and I am privileged to be able to bring the physical and mental health benefits of yoga to some of the people under our service.
I teach vinyasa and hatha yoga, along with chair yoga and my classes and practice are suitable for everyone. I would love you to join me on the mat (or on the chair!).
