📢 Unfortunately, it has been necessary to cancel Thursday’s pregnancy vaccination clinic at Pontefract Hospital. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

💉 Our maternity service offers both drop-in and bookable sessions for Pertussis and RSV vaccinations throughout the year, plus the Flu vaccination from October to March, conveniently available in our hospital antenatal clinics.

Getting vaccinated during pregnancy is a safe and effective way to help protect both you and your baby from serious illness. Vaccines such as Pertussis (whooping cough) and RSV provide your baby with vital protection in their first weeks of life, when they are most vulnerable.

📌 Please note: the clinic at Pontefract Hospital on Thursday 27 November will be running from 1pm to 4.30pm.

✅ To book an appointment, please speak to your community midwife, or drop in at one of the following clinics as shown below.

🥰This , Jess said: "We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the incredible midwives at Pinderfields who safely delivered our beautiful baby boy, Louie, on Saturday 8th November.

"A very special thank you to Fazila, Chloe, and Chloe for the amazing care and support you gave us throughout the birth. Although my labour was quite complicated at times, your calm, reassuring presence and friendly nature made the whole experience so much more positive.

"From the moment we arrived in the morning right through to the end of your shift, you looked after us with such kindness and professionalism.

"We’re so grateful for everything you did — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. With love, Jess, Brad, and baby Louie "

This , Chloe told us: "I’d like to leave a big thank you to the staff at Bronte Birth Centre who safely delivered our son earlier this month, with a special mention to Nicola, Deb and Leanne who helped deliver our baby boy Emory.

"The care went above and beyond anything we could have expected!

"The birth centre felt like a home from home and even our family were welcomed with open arms to meet our little boy before we were discharged.

"We’re so glad we chose the birth centre and will ensure we recommend to our friends and family.

"Thank you again Nicola, Deb and Leanne, we will never forget the gift you gave to us."

In October 2023, Katie Robinson and her husband Jamie from Cleckheaton faced the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Freya, who was stillborn. As they honour Freya’s second birthday, they have made the heartfelt decision to fundraise for an Abi Cooling Cot, which they will generously donate to Pinderfields Hospital.

Katie shared: "Thanks to a previously donated cooling cot, we were able to spend three precious days with Freya in hospital. That time meant the world to us and inspired us to take action. We’d now like to give more families the opportunity to have precious time with their angels.”

The Abi Cooling Cot is a specially designed refrigerated unit that allows families to spend more time with their baby than would otherwise be possible. This time can be vital in helping parents bond, say goodbye, and begin to process their grief.
