Standing By Benny: Walking Together for Hope 💛
One of our own HMP Durham nurses, Julie Tough, is facing a battle no one should ever have to witness. Her beautiful nephew Benny is bravely fighting neuroblastoma, and our Spectrum Community Health CIC family is coming together to help give him the very best chance.
On 11th April, colleagues from across Spectrum Community Health CIC will take on a half-marathon walk around Durham — Benny’s hometown. It’s a place full of meaning, memories and love, and a fitting backdrop for a walk fuelled by heart more than fitness.
The goal is clear and urgent: to help raise vital funds to get Benny to Rome for CAR-T cell therapy, a life-saving treatment that could change everything. The costs are overwhelming, which is why this fundraiser matters so much.
A half marathon will be a challenge, but as the team says: what we lack in fitness, we make up for in heart ❤️
They’ll start together, finish together, and Stand By Benny every step of the way.
