And lift off! ๐Ÿš€ (Almost..) Rebuilding my strength after baby ๐Ÿ‘ถ Still a long way to go but little by little (one foot at a time! ๐Ÿ˜…) I feel like Iโ€™m getting there.. trying not to rush or push too much.. I keep telling myself it took my body 9 months to build a baby so itโ€™s probably going to take about that to get back to my pre-pregnancy practice and thatโ€™s totally ok ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ™Œ

*Using props in pregnancy* ๐Ÿคฐ Blocks have become an absolute necessity for me the larger my bump grows (these pics are taken at 36 weeks). There is no physical way I can even touch my toes or lean forward to the extent I used to. Everything has had to get smaller, movements more compact and tighter, still creating space in the body but being safe for bump. Also not over stretching- which is easy to do when you have relaxin pumping around your body loosening all your muscles! My blocks enable me to feel more comfortable and supported, still feeling the stretch but in a way that feels right for my body at the moment. I am a true yoga block convert now and think Iโ€™ll be relying on them more and more in future practice! ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

And today marks the end of our 200hrYTT journey with and what a journey it has been ๐Ÿ’›. *27 weeks today ๐Ÿ˜ฎ* ๐Ÿคฐ Baddha Konasana is one of my favourite yoga positions to do whilst pregnant..making sure the feet arenโ€™t too close to the pelvic area and keeping it more restorative feels so nice and relaxing...๐Ÿ’› Whether pregnant or not I definitely recommend giving this one a try... if you have a bolster you could also stand it up right and rest the head on it to make it super restorative ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ค

Itโ€™s mental health awareness week so I wrote a little blog post about my experience of being pregnant in a pandemic...some days are good and some days I really struggle.. on the tough days I definitely try and reach for my inner yogi and practice patience, kindness to myself and just BREATHE.. boy it can be hard.. But then isnโ€™t that what yoga teaches us.. sometimes you need to sit through the discomfort to get to the other side, to feel the benefits.. We are all in this together and we will get through it. Emerging stronger than before I like to hope ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคฐ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ*YOGA IN PREGNANCY*๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Throughout my first trimester I felt really unsure about doing any type of exercise (except for walking) mainly due to sickness ๐Ÿคข but also from fear of doing harm to the little life growing inside me. Now Iโ€™m into my 2nd trimester Iโ€™m finally starting to get my yoga groove back ๐Ÿ˜† Iโ€™m following pregnancy yoga experts on Instagram and YouTube and taking on board all their modifications - seriously thinking about doing pregnancy yoga teacher training one day as really loving it. One of the key areas Iโ€™m trying to work is my pelvic floor because letโ€™s face it...pretty vital at the mo ๐ŸคฐThis Goddess pose works those pelvic floor muscles and is also super empowering ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’ช (ps photo taken pre-bump!)

Iโ€™ve been a bit quiet on here for the last couple of months...and in recent weeks I havenโ€™t quite known what to write with everyone going through such a challenging and testing time. But I also think itโ€™s important to still celebrate life and for the last few months Iโ€™ve been growing a new little life ๐Ÿ’› It has changed everything so quickly in a wonderful way but it has come with its challenges physically and mentally.
