Join us for an afternoon of Women’s Health, featuring a discussion on Herbs for Health from Leila Halid & an Embodied Menopause talk with Tracy Barber followed by a healing Restorative Yoga practice to seal the day.

We begin our afternoon with an understanding of the natural cycles of women and the ways in which we can support our feminine well-being on a daily basis. Through understanding imbalances and dis – eases in our bodies, we observe how to create vitality through herbal medicine and self-awareness. With awareness of our natural rhythms we thread this into the next section of the afternoon beginning with the history and cultural themes of the menopausal ‘wise woman’ and how we have inherited a legacy of disempowerment. We then move through what it means to embody this transformational time first by understanding the psychological and physical changes that women face to reframing what most women fear and try to avoid – anxiety, weight gain, anger, fatigue & insomnia, atrophy and loss. We end with restorative yoga poses beneficial for women’s health.

You will be given material to take home with you from the afternoon featuring all the information from the day

New moon, new medicine. Our in-house medical herbalist has made this wonderful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, immune boosting tonic inspired by Rosemary Gladstar. This folk remedy is used to ward off colds and flu in the winter months as well as stimulate circulation and enhance digestion.

Traditionally made from onion, garlic, ginger, horseradish, cayenne pepper and lemon - these herbs are steeped in apple cider vinegar for up to 6 weeks to release all the beneficial compounds and minerals.

Here are a few ways to use it once it’s infused;

•As a “wellness shot” – Straight up or mixed with juice

•In juice – Mix a teaspoon or two in fresh apple juice for children

•Mixed with raw honey – A herbal vinegar with honey is called an oxymel. You can use 3 parts on the tonic and 1 part honey and take throughout the day

•Added to herbal tea – Perfect in fresh lemon and ginger tea

•Mixed with hot water – Add 2 tbsp’s to hot water with some honey/maple syrup to taste

•Make a salad dressing – Mix with olive oil and honey/agave. Season to taste

Simply put, self care is taking time to look after your mind/body/spirit. It doesn’t have to be on a Sunday, but it’s a good day to start.

It can look like a relaxing salt bath after a long day, or shaking your b***y at this bank holiday weekend. Either way, take some time to nourish your well-being.
