Just a little rant (that isn’t remotely paranormal) that Is very close to my heart and that I feel everyone should understand and be educated on.
Piers Morgan - what an absolute joke! your lack of understanding for mental health ,and in particular men’s mental health is disgusting.Using the words ‘man up’ and ‘pull yourself together’ to address whether it’s good for men to cry and share their emotions is exactly why there are so many men struggling to get help or speak to anyone often ending in su***de.
For a journalist who usually breaks barriers in discussions ,getting people to use their common sense and have those uncomfortable discussions, has totally just bought into everything that is wrong and toxic when it comes to mens mental health.
For anyone who has supported someone who they love through a mental health crisis will know that unfortunately, people are still not educated enough or seem to think that the ‘matcho’ or the ‘toxic masculinity’ models are the way to go .Indeed, they do not seem to recognise that mens mental health is important,it is absolutely valid for men to struggle,to cry,and to ask for help.
The discussion about men’s mental health really does need to change - compassion, care and empathy is needed and these toxic stereotypes (abd those supporting these ) need to stop ❤️
