🎉 Celebrating 70 Years with Style at FR Somerset 🎉

2025 marks a major milestone for FR Somerset, a proud family-run business now celebrating 70 years of excellence in road transport and warehousing solutions. Operating 24/7 to meet the evolving demands of the industry, the team continues to invest in quality and innovation. To commemorate this anniversary, two brand new Volvo FH Aero tractor units have joined the fleet — a fitting tribute to seven decades of service.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of delivering the first Volvo FH 6x2 Aero tractor unit to the team at Oldbury Garage Ltd. This stunning new Aero cab features Volvo’s advanced camera monitoring system, enhancing driver visibility and awareness on the road.

Powered by the ever-popular 13-litre 500hp engine, the truck also includes premium features such as a satellite navigation system, underbunk fridge, and leather seats—all designed to maximise driver comfort and performance.

This delivery marks the first of a multi-truck order, with additional units scheduled to arrive in early 2026.

We would like to extend our thanks to Dan, Joe and the Butler family for their continued support of the Volvo brand.

Nine new Volvo FH Aeros join Lloyds Transport.

Martin Lloyd, Managing Director, Lloyds Transport, says: “Our drivers have been really impressed with the new Volvos. The cabs are comfortable, well-equipped, and easy to work in. Plus, with the mileage we do – close to 190,000 km a year per truck – we needed something that could go the distance. The I-Save engines have been excellent on fuel, and the trucks are proving reliable under pressure.
