🎶Music speaks where words fail🎶

Our whole 2025 has been lead by the universal language. We asked residents and staff about what music spoke to them and why.

Gladys loves waltz and swing as she used to go dancing

Jo was part of her church choir and loves hymns, but also loved dancing to Glenn Miller

Kelly loves Diana Ross and the Supremes as they were catchy

Angie loves 50’s rock and roll as she wanted to learn to jive dance

Tracey loves Chaka Khan as her brother brought her a single of this

Gordon loves western as it reminds him of Rawhide on the TV

Naz loves Bhangra as it reminds her of time with her Auntie

Phil loves Madonna’s immaculate collection as he was gifted it on a recorded cassette.

Martin loves Englebert Humperdink as it reminds him of his mom

This is the tip of the iceberg for why music is so important for us. It’s communication, connection and creativity. Its identity, expression and speaks for us when our words fail.

With love from the new year to every one of you, listen to your favourite song tonight, and celebrate the new year with song and music.

Friends and family, we've had a year full of proud moments, shared milestones and plenty of reasons to smile.

January started on a high with our NAPA Award, which set the tone for the entire year ahead. We celebrated a very special “Welcome Home” as we marked our 10 year anniversary. Alongside wonderful personal moments across the team which included marriages and births. We have welcomed a mayoral visit, strengthened our commitment to inclusion through Pride, and were extremely proud to achieve Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation too.

We have shared equal highs and lows, successes and challenges. Each experience continues to shape who we are and strengthens our commitment to compassionate, person-centred care. We have warmly welcomed new residents into our home, while also remembering with care and respect those who are no longer living here with us.

Our home has been alive with entertainment and memorable themed events. Christmas celebrations recently went very well. Our theme Music Mayhem was a hit this year and next year’s theme will be revealed very soon, we’ve had some really successful fundraising days plus had meaningful resident days out during the summer months.

We have continued to value our intergenerational work, especially as our residents love this special time so much. As a training centre we have continued to welcome students from Walsall Academy, Walsall College, Nova Training, plus also supporting student nurses from the University of Wolverhampton, helping shape the future of care.

Most importantly, we continue to grow our community recognition, we continually drive ongoing quality improvement in house, yet always ensuring that our residents remain at the very heart of everything we do.

Thank you to our residents, families, staff and the wider community for being part of our Rushall journey. The best bits are never just behind us, bring on 2026!! Phil (General Manager)

Friends and family, throughout 2025, our digital reception system has been used by staff, residents, visitors, professionals and contractors to support safe fire logging and to give everyone an easy way to share feedback when leaving the building directly with my team and I.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to leave comments and feedback during the year. Your experiences matter and help us evidence compassionate, respectful care and identify where we can continue to improve. All feedback is reviewed by management and used as part of our ongoing quality monitoring, including evidence for CQC.

As we move into 2026, we look forward to integrating even more technology into our feedback systems to ensure every voice continues to be heard. Thank you for your continued support. Phil (General Manager)

Good morning all, and wishing you a wonderful Christmas Eve and a relaxing break ahead.

As Christmas truly arrives, my team and I at Rushall Care Home would like to send our warmest wishes to all of our residents, their families and their loved ones.

To our residents, thank you for filling our home with warmth, laughter, stories and strength throughout the year. It is a privilege to care for you and to share Christmas together.

To families and friends thank you for your trust, kindness and continued support. You are an important part of life at Rushall, and we truly value the relationships we share with you.

To my hardworking team, thank you so very much for your dedication, compassion and professionalism now and throughout the year. Your commitment to our residents, especially over the festive period, never goes unnoticed.

You are the heart of Rushall Care Home.

This Christmas also carries a quieter reflection, once again we remember with love those residents who are no longer with us. We hold their families close in our thoughts at this time, and they remain very much part of the Rushall family.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, warm and meaningful Christmas, filled with kindness, comfort and moments that matter.

With sincere thanks and festive wishes, Phil (General Manager).

🎄Jax’s Christmas message…

Jax our admin assistant/welcome host/chief sniffer/therapy pooch and his Mom Kirstie would like to thank everyone for his very generous Christmas presents. There is now a small mountain of treats and gifts that “should” last until Easter, give or take a week.

Thank you so much for the kindness, thoughtfulness, and spoiling beyond all reason. It really does mean a great deal to both Jax and Kirstie. 🐾

Friends and family, this Christmas we’ve been really fortunate to be given a lot of gifts for our residents. On Friday we had another little bit of Christmas magic. We were very kindly donated a beautiful Christmas cake by a neighbour of Rushall Care home who simply wanted to spread a bit of festive cheer. No name, no fuss, just a random act of kindness that genuinely made our day. Moments like this really do remind us how thoughtful and generous our local community is, and we’re very grateful for the kindness shown to our residents and team. The cake will be shared and enjoyed for quality assurance purposes only, of course. Thank you to our mystery donor. Small gestures = big smiles. From all of us, thank you. Phil (General Manager)

🎄 We’re in the final run up to Christmas! 🎄

Yesterday we had a fabulous donation to our kitchen and Chef Michelle has got load of goodies for our residents.

We also had our last visit of Little Pioneers Nursery. We had a chaotic snowball fight and then all sat down to watch The Gruffalo.

Today is Pyjama day and we are keeping comfy and chilled with films and baileys hot chocolate🥰
