First-Class Mental Health & Relationship Therapy in Walton on Thames & Surrey

We provide compassionate and expert therapy to help you navigate romantic, familial, and interpersonal challenges. Hello, I am Daniel Thomas-Wallis; I created Thrive Together Psychotherapy to embody a philosophy that prioritises connection, compassion, and meaningful change over the rigid structures of the medical model. My goal was to create a space where people can take the risk of being open about what they genuinely feel, as this kind of open dialogue lies at the heart of genuine connection. My mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment where individuals and couples can deeply explore their mental health and relationships, heal from past wounds, and build empowered, fulfilling lives. True well-being comes from understanding the deeper emotional and relational factors that shape who we are. Everyone deserves to feel connected—to themselves, to others, and the world around them—and I am committed to fostering this sense of connection in every therapeutic relationship. At Thrive Together, the focus is on creating a space where clients can move beyond the constraints of traditional models of mental health care. Instead of rushing to "fix" problems or apply labels, the emphasis is on cultivating an open, exploratory dialogue that respects the uniqueness of each individual’s story. This approach is rooted in Existential Analytic Psychotherapy, which emphasises understanding the complex interplay of life experiences, relationships, and emotions in shaping identity and mental well-being. My ultimate goal is to help clients take steps toward not just surviving life’s challenges but thriving beyond them—emotionally, mentally, and relationally. Whether processing trauma, managing anxiety, seeking clarity and meaning, or building stronger relationships, Thrive Together is here to walk alongside you. Together, we can transform your struggles into opportunities for growth, deeper connection, and a truly authentic and fulfilling life.

The way we were loved as children doesn’t stay in the past… it quietly follows us into our relationships.
Sometimes it shows up as a deep capacity to love, trust, and connect.

Other times, it appears as fear of abandonment, emotional distance, or the need to protect ourselves.
We don’t choose these patterns consciously — they were learned long before we had the words to understand them.

But here’s the important part:

What once helped us survive doesn’t always help us relate.

So the question isn’t “What’s wrong with me?”
It’s “What did I learn about love… and is it still serving me?”

Awareness is where change begins.

If you want to feel more connected to your partner, try this:

Take it in turns to speak for 30 minutes each…
No interrupting. No fixing. No defending.
Just presence. Attention. Listening.
You might be surprised how rarely we are truly heard — and how powerful it feels when we are.
Connection isn’t always about saying more…
Sometimes it’s about finally being listened to.

Why do we keep choosing the wrong partner? 🤔
It doesn’t always feel like a choice—it feels like chemistry, right? But often, it’s about familiarity. Something about them feels known, even if it’s painful. We don’t just choose partners; we repeat patterns. Let’s break the cycle together! 💔❤️
