Yesterday was a truly memorable day at Wandsworth Common Care Home.
We were deeply honoured to welcome the exceptionally gifted British pianist Cyrill Ibrahim to perform for our residents described, by The Daily Telegraph as “one of the most exciting pianists of his generation.”
Despite his busy schedule, Cyrill kindly made time to visit us, a gesture that truly meant so much to everyone here. From the moment he sat at the piano, the room fell completely silent. His expressive, heartfelt playing captivated residents, families, and friends alike.
Each piece was performed with such sensitivity and warmth, creating a beautiful atmosphere filled with reflection and connection. It was more than a recital, it was a shared experience that touched souls and brought our community together.
Our sincere thanks to Cyrill for sharing not only his remarkable talent, but also his time and kindness with us.

Love was truly in the air as we celebrated Valentine’s Day together.
A very special thank you to our talented chef, Kruno, who went all out to make the day extra special. The stunning pink heart cakes were almost too beautiful to eat… almost!
It was a warm, joyful afternoon and a lovely reminder that Valentine’s Day is not only about romance, but about celebrating all the love, friendship, and kindness we share as a community.

Yesterday we said “Thank You for the Music!” 🎶✨
What better way to brighten up a rainy winter’s day than with an ABBA show! The sunshine may have been hiding outside, but inside we were full of sparkle.
Dancing Queen had everyone singing along, toes tapping, and hands clapping, the energy in the room was amazing!
Music really does lift spirits and bring us together. Another feel-good moment we all love 💛

We marked Burns Night by honouring Scottish tradition and culture here at the home.
Resident James, who is Scottish, kindly read the traditional Address to a Haggis, bringing a meaningful and authentic touch to the evening. It was a simple moment, but a lovely way to keep traditions alive and celebrate what matters to our residents.

A special treat for our residents as we visited the Anna Ancher exhibition at Dulwich. Our residents loved exploring the gallery and admiring Anna Ancher’s beautiful use of light, colour and everyday life.
Trips to art galleries are always a favourite, and this visit was no exception. It was a joy to see how much our residents enjoyed the artwork and the shared experience.

🌧️✨ A wonderful way to brighten a rainy day
We were warmly welcomed for lunch at the London Oratory House, kindly hosted by the Order of Malta. From the moment we arrived, we were looked after so well by their incredible volunteers.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch, a lovely sing-along, and above all, a truly joyful atmosphere filled with kindness and care. Every resident had an amazing time.
As one of our residents beautifully said: “It was wonderful.”
We are so thankful to the Order of Malta and all their volunteers for the amazing work they do and for making the day so special for everyone. 💙🙏
