Community Front Rooms

Community Front Rooms The Community Front Rooms provide support for those struggling with their mental health. It is for people looking for non-judgmental support.

The purpose the Community Front Rooms (CFR) is to provide an accessible place for people who recognise they have declining mental health and are at risk of going into - or are in - crisis. The CFRs aim to provide a safe and welcoming space to discuss problems and work towards solutions. Staffed by both mental health professionals and peer specialists (people who have their own lived experience of mental health issues), the CFRs offers out-of-hours support and advice on self-management. Community Front Rooms

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce the Community Front Rooms.

The Community Front Room is the result of a public consultation on acute mental health services in Dorset, providing an alternative option for people experiencing challenges to their mental health. We provide a safe and welcoming environment for anyone experiencing emotional distress or mental health crisis.

The Community Front Room could not function without a focus on community. We are looking to make partnerships and build knowledge of individuals, organizations and amenities. This will be crucial if we are to fully utilize the resources Wareham can offer in support of the mental health and wellbeing of the community.

If you or a person you are supporting comes to the Community Front Room, you can expect a warm welcome, a friendly listening ear, and a safe space where you will be supported to identify and reflect on your abilities, strengths, options and opportunities.
