💬 It’s International Stress Awareness Week 2025 — a timely reminder that stress touches all of us, no matter our role or responsibilities.

It’s important to pause, check in with ourselves, and recognise when stress starts to build. It’s easy to keep pushing through — but taking time to rest, set boundaries, and ask for support can make a real difference.

This week, we encourage everyone to:
🌿 Take breaks without guilt
🗣️ Talk openly about stress instead of hiding it
💪 Remember that looking after your wellbeing isn’t a luxury — it’s essential
Let’s use this week as a reminder to be kind to ourselves and to those around us who might be carrying more than they show. 💚

Yesterday, we joined the world in recognizing World Stroke Awareness Day

To mark the occasion, we invited all team members to wear purple, the Stroke Association’s signature colour, to show our solidarity and support for those affected by stroke. 💜

It was inspiring to see so many of our colleagues come together to raise awareness and stand with the stroke community.
Here are some wonderful moments captured from the day! 📸

🎉 Our Directors’ Drop-In was a success this morning!

The Director Drop-In is chance for staff to pop by catch up, share ideas & just enjoy a treat on us!

The brownies went first, then the rocky road, then the lemon drizzle… 🍫🍋
Now we’re left with the granola flapjack with raisins — and it’s sparked an important office debate! 😄

👉 Is the raisin treat really a treat?
🍫 Do we always reach for chocolate first?
🤔 And most importantly — what would your favourite be?

Let us know in the comments — we’re curious where you stand on this sweet debate! 🍰☕

💚 World Mental Health Day – 10th October 💚

Today, we join millions around the world in recognising the importance of mental health — for ourselves, our colleagues, and the people we support.

At Balance Care, we believe that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it’s okay to not be okay. Taking time to rest, to talk, and to reach out for help when we need it is a sign of strength — not weakness.

Let’s continue to look out for one another, to listen without judgment, and to create spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard. 💬✨

Together, we can break the stigma and build a world where mental wellbeing is a priority for all.

🎉 It’s fayre day at the Job Centre! 🎉

We’re having a fantastic time chatting with lots of people about the exciting opportunities we have here at Balance Care.

We love meeting new faces and having those all-important, genuine conversations in person. It’s a great chance to share what makes Balance Care such a special place to work.

As you can see, Owen - our brilliant Office Manager - is thoroughly enjoying the morning so far! 😄💬

💼 Support Worker – Supported Living (Yes, we’re talking to you!)
📍 Location: Warrington or St Helens
⏰ Hours: Full-time
💰 Salary: Competitive (plus the priceless perk of making a real difference)

Do not apply if:
• You think “support work” is just tea-making and TV time. (We do both - but we also help people smash their goals, big and small.)
• You’re allergic to laughter, surprises, or the occasional plot twist. (No two days are the same, and that’s the fun of it.)
• You’d prefer a job where nothing and no one ever challenges you. (Growth happens here - for you and the people you support.)

Now, if you’re still reading…
We’re looking for kind, reliable, and downright brilliant humans to join our team as Support Workers. You’ll be helping adults with learning disabilities and/or complex needs live with independence, dignity, and joy.

You’ll be:
• Supporting people to live their best lives - whether that’s learning new skills, getting out and about, or just having a good chat over coffee
• Encouraging independence while knowing when to step in
• Bringing patience, empathy, and a healthy dose of humour to every shift
• Dealing with the unexpected (sometimes with a plan, sometimes with improv)

What we need from you:
• A genuine passion for helping others (experience is great, but heart is essential - we can train the rest)
• A willingness to work flexibly - because life doesn’t run 9-to-5
• An understanding of person-centred support (or a readiness to learn it)
• The ability to stay calm under pressure - and keep smiling when things get messy

What you’ll get from us:
• Full training and ongoing development (your career matters to us)
• A supportive team who’s got your back
• Shifts that work with your life, not against it
• The chance to laugh every day - sometimes at work, sometimes with work

💬 Ready to make a difference and have a little fun along the way?
Apply now and see where this could take you.
