Good morning let’s talk about, Negative automatic thoughts (NATs) are the quick, critical messages that pop into our minds without us choosing them — “I’m not good enough”, “I’ll fail”, “They’re judging me”. Over time, these thoughts can shape how we feel, how we see ourselves, and how we behave, often leading to anxiety, avoidance, low mood, or self-doubt.

In counselling, we don’t try to silence thoughts — we learn to notice them, understand where they came from, and gently question their truth and usefulness. When clients change their relationship with these thoughts, they begin to respond with more self-compassion, flexibility, and confidence.

How Inner Healing Counselling Can Help with Anxiety

Anxiety can make life feel overwhelming — as though you’re no longer in control of your thoughts, your body, or the direction you’re going. At Inner Healing Counselling, the aim is to help you understand your anxiety, feel supported, and gently put you back in the driver’s seat of your life.

Counselling offers a safe, compassionate space where you can talk openly without judgement. Together we explore what anxiety feels like for you, what may be underneath it, and what you need in order to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control.

Working as an Integrative Counsellor

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to suit you as an individual. There is no one-size-fits-all. Your pace, your story, and your goals guide the work.

So often, we wake up already carrying yesterday’s worries, self-doubt, or inner criticism. Over time, those thoughts can become patterns — shaping how we see ourselves and the world around us.
