We’re proud to be part of a pioneering approach helping more people across Greater Manchester move more and live healthier lives 🚲

A new case study from the Local Government Association highlights the region’s whole-system approach to tackling inactivity—and we’re delighted to see the impact of our Bike Buddy programme recognised as part of this.

Through Bike Buddy, delivered in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester, we’re supporting disabled people, older adults and those with long-term health conditions to build confidence, gain independence and experience the joy of cycling 🙌

We're thrilled to see that across Greater Manchester, inactivity is falling faster than the national average, showing what’s possible when organisations work together to remove barriers and create inclusive opportunities for all. ✨

We’re excited to share a planned and positive step forward as we continue to grow our impact across the UK 🚲

From 1 April 2026, Joe McTague will become Chief Executive, leading Wheels for All into its next phase of development. Joe has played a key role in shaping our strategy and growth, and we’re thrilled to see him step into this position.

At the same time, Ian Tierney will move into a new role as Chief Partnerships Officer, focusing on building the relationships and investment needed to help us reach even more disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.

This change reflects our ambition to expand inclusive cycling opportunities nationwide 🚲🙌

A big shout out to Ollie, who recently joined a session at Wheels for All and showed that cycling can make a difference in more ways than one! 🌍🚲

Ollie, the son of one of our fantastic volunteers Harry, took one of our trikes out for a ride at Debdale Park — but instead of just enjoying the track, he used his cycle to help pick up litter from around the park. 🧹💚

It’s a brilliant reminder that inclusive cycling is not only about getting active, but also about connecting with and caring for our local community.

Thanks for setting such a great example, Ollie! 👏

There’s now just one week left to support our SpaceHive campaign to bring a Velo Plus wheelchair-accessible cycle to our Ellesmere Port Hub 💙🚲

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far — your generosity is already helping us move closer to making this a reality.

This specialist cycle would allow a wheelchair user to be securely attached to the front, making it possible to ride alongside friends, family and carers — sharing the joy of cycling together. For many people, this could be the very first time they’ve had the chance to experience that freedom.

With your continued support, we’re aiming to:
🚲 Purchase and install the Velo Plus cycle
👥 Deliver 10 fully staffed inclusive cycling sessions
🛠️ Train our staff and volunteers to use it safely and confidently for years to come

If you’ve been meaning to donate, now is the perfect time — with just one week left to go. Every contribution, big or small, helps us create more inclusive cycling opportunities in Ellesmere Port.

Let’s make it happen together 💙

Well it looks like Spring might finally be Springing and what better chance to get outside and give back to your community! 🚲🍃

Our sessions are now back up and running, and we’re welcoming new volunteers to join us in what is set to be a busy cycling season. While we have many volunteer roles, what you do with us is always shaped around you. We take time to get to know each person, their interests and their needs, so volunteering with Wheels for All is flexible and supportive.

We’d love you to come along to your nearest session, see what we do, have a chat with the team and decide if it’s right for you. No cycling experience needed – just a friendly attitude and a willingness to help.

Make this Spring/Summer the year you try something new and give back ❤️

Julia is nearly at the finish line – can you help her get there? 🌈

You might remember a few weeks ago we told you about Wheels for All supporter Julia, who is is taking on the Manchester Marathon in less than 5 weeks to raise money for inclusive cycling — and she’s already almost at 80% of her fundraising target! 🎉

Julia chose to support Wheels for All after seeing the impact of our sessions first-hand. One of her cousins, who is autistic, attended a session and not only rode a bike for the first time, but also spoke — something that is very rare for her. A truly special moment made possible by inclusive cycling and our incredible volunteers 🚲💛

With race day getting closer, we’d love to help Julia reach her fundraising goal. If you’re able to donate, every contribution helps create more life-changing moments like this.

About Us

Cycling Projects is a national charity which promotes cycling through a range of successful community engagement programmes that give people the opportunity to cycle on a regular basis; through help, support and guidance. Most noticeably this is all achieved through its two nationally acclaimed initiatives Wheels for All and Pedal Away
